Jake Smolinski is reportedly nearing a deal with the NC Dinos of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Sung Min Kim and the ALPB News Twitter accounts are both reporting the development, so it sounds like it has a good chance of going down. Smolinski, 30, has hit .270/.360/.504 with 12 homers and nine steals over 67 games this year with the Rays’ Triple-A affiliate. He appeared in 19 games last season with Oakland.

Victor Caratini hit a two-run homer in a win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Caratini gave the Twins a 2-1 lead in the fourth with a two-run homer off Michael McGreevy, and that would be the only runs the Twins would procure against McGreevy. They did get three against the St. Louis bullpen in the comeback victory. Caratini has four homers in 2026 to go along with an uninspiring slash of .215/.311/.319.
