He struck out one and allowed one baserunner during the abbreviated 16-pitch outing. Correa is holding out hope that he’ll make it back after undergoing what was originally believed to be season-ending surgery to repair a torn tendon in his ankle back in mid-May. The 31-year-old infielder remains without a definitive return timetable, but it sounds like there’s a chance he’s back at some point in September.
