Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two walks on Friday to lead the Padres to an 8-3 win over the A’s.
Tatis Jr. put the Padres on the board early with a solo homer off Sean Newcomb in the first inning. He added two more runs with a base hit in the second. After a groundout in the fourth, he drew walks in the sixth and eighth innings and collected one steal. The 24-year-old star is slashing .263/.327/.468 with 25 homers, 84 runs scored, 77 RBI, and 26 steals across 576 plate appearances.
