It’s unclear how often Massey will play at first, but Jonathan India is hitting .208/.321/.333 with one home run and five RBI to start the season, so he could lose some starts at second base to Massey against right-handed pitching. It’s a situation to monitor.

With Matthew Boyd (biceps) on the injured list, Assad will start on Tuesday in Tampa Bay. Even though it’s a solid matchup, Assad has allowed seven earned runs on 14 hits in seven innings at Triple-A this year with a 7/6 K/BB ratio. He should not be relied on in any fantasy formats.

CHC Starting Pitcher #16

Cubs placed LHP Matthew Boyd on the 15-day IL with a left bicep strain.

Well, this is a bummer. Boyd looked good on Wednesday, striking out 10 hitters in a game for the first time since 2019. Apparently, his arm didn’t bounce back well from that injury, so he will land on the IL with Javier Assad starting in his place tomorrow. We should have more information on a timeline for Boyd’s return later this week.

Kaelen Culpepper

MIN Shortstop

Twins INF prospect Kaelen Culpepper went 2-for-7 with a walk, two home runs, two runs scored, and four RBI in a doubleheader for Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday.

Culpepper’s home run was off Payton Tolle, and the 23-year-old is now up to three home runs on the season while hitting .294 with eight RBI and a .927 OPS. Brooks Lee has been off to a slow start in the big leagues, so there is a chance that Culpepper, who is MLB Pipeline’s 52nd-ranked prospect, could push Lee for a job by May if he keeps this up.

Blaze Jordan

STL 1st Baseman #49

Cardinals 1B prospect Blake Jordan went 3-for-7 with two RBI in a doubleheader on Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.

So far this season, Jordan has hit .480 with two doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI. The Cardinals have Alec Burleson entrenched at first base, but if Jordan continues to hit, he could push his way into a shot at DH at-bats for a rebuilding Cardinals team.

Miguel Ullola

HOU Starting Pitcher #66

Astros RHP prospect Miguel Ullola allowed one run on two hits in four innings for Triple-A Sugar Land on Sunday.

He also struck out eight and walked three while throwing 62 percent of his pitches for strikes. Command has always been a bit of a concern for Ullola, but he has wipe out stuff and posted a 44 percent whiff rate in this one. His slider and cutter both miss plenty of bats, and his four-seamer has good vertical movement, which helps his fairly average velocity. He’s a name to keep an eye on, particularly if Hunter Brown is out for an extended period of time.

Max Clark

DET Center Fielder #95

Tigers OF prospect Max Clark went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored for Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

There was a lot of attention paid to Clark’s jewelry and defense this spring, but the 21-year-old is hitting .367 so far this season with six doubles, three RBI, and three steals. Parker Meadows is off to a solid start for the Tigers, so there is no rush to bring Clark up to the big leagues, but an extended stretch like this could expedite things.
