Edward Olivares hit his 12th homer Sunday in the victory over the Yankees.
Olivares was in Triple-A and seemed to be about done as a Royal a month ago, but after being recalled on Sept. 3, he hit .329/.390/.657 with six homers in 22 games, giving him a solid .263/.317/.452 line in 385 plate appearances for the season. It still might be best for everyone if he gets the chance to move on this winter, but we’ll see what happens. He’s eligible for arbitration for the first time, but he probably won’t make more than $2 million.
