Tyler Glasnow yielded four runs — three earned — in five-plus innings Tuesday in a loss to the Rangers.
Glasnow, who struck out eight, was hurt badly by an uncharacteristically bad Rays defense today and then hurt physically by a comebacker off the back of his leg in the fifth. Even though his velocity was down after the injury, the Rays sent him back out for the sixth and watched him walk two batters then before pulling him. Both runners came around to score off Chris Devenski, adding two earned runs to Glasnow’s total. He deserved better, even if he did set himself back with the walks.
