Bryson Stott drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, accounting for all of the Phillies’ offense in a 2-0 victory over the Marlins.
Stott used his wheels in the fifth inning, beating out a potential inning-ending double play ball to score Whit Merrifield with the game’s first run. He then tacked on a valuable insurance run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly. The 26-year-old infielder finished the night 0-for-3 and is now hitting .239/.332/.359 with five homers, 38 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

Justin Wrobleski is expected to start for the Dodgers on Friday evening against the Cardinals.
Dodgers’ skipper Dave Roberts had said before Thursday’s game that he was undecided on whether the team would go with a bullpen day on Friday or promote a spot starter instead. The Dodgers’ bullpen had to cover 5 2/3 innings after Landon Knack couldn’t get out of the fourth inning on Thrusday, making it extremely likely that it’ll be Wrobleski getting the ball instead.
'Hold on' to Braves' Harris II in fantasy leagues
Despite Michael Harris II's disappointing numbers thus far, Eric Samulski highlights why fantasy managers should still find a roster spot for the Braves' outfielder.

Shane Bieber (elbow) was scratched from his scheduled minor league rehab start at Double-A Akron on Friday after experiencing renewed soreness in his elbow following a bullpen session.
Bieber has already consulted with team doctors and will now meet with Dr. Keith Meister who performed his Tommy John surgery to determine the next steps. It’s obviously a very discouraging development as Bieber looked sharp with five strikeouts over 2 1/3 scoreless innings in his first rehab start on Saturday. Hopefully it’s nothing major and he’ll be able to resume throwing in relatively short order. Stay tuned.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #62
Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told reporters after Thursday’s game that Daysbel Hernández will be placed on the 15-day injured list prior to Friday’s contest against the Giants in San Francisco.
Still no word on the extent of the injury that Hernández suffered during Wednesday’s outing against the Diamondbacks, but he’ll miss a couple of weeks at a minimum. Dylan Dodd is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to replace Hernández on the club’s active roster.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #63
Braves designated RHP Scott Blewett for assignment.
It’s too easy to say that Blewett blew it for the Braves on Thursday afternoon, but he was responsible for the first five runs that scored during the Diamondbacks’ seven-run uprising in the ninth inning to steal victory from the jaws of defeat. Blewett becomes a scapegoat for the brutal implosion and will be replaced in the Braves’ bullpen by Craig Kimbrel on Friday.
  • STL Catcher #40
Willson Contreras went 2-for-4 and delivered a game-winning single in the 10th as the Cardinals edged the Royals 6-5 in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader.
Willson’s 1,000th career major league game proved to be a special one, as the helped the Cards pull off a comeback against Carlos Estévez. The Cardinals scored all of their runs in the seventh, eighth and 10th innings today and won despite being outhit 12-8. Knocking in Lars Nootbaar in the 10th also gave Contreras an RBI for a four straight contest. He actually got his 500th career RBI in the Cardinals’ previous game Tuesday.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #39
Miles Mikolas yielded three runs and eight hits over six innings in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Royals.
Mikolas has made 184 starts for the Cardinals since 2018 and allowed three runs and eight hits over six innings in 129 of them. No, not really, but you certainly know what you’re getting at this point. He’s set to face the Jays at home next time through.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #56
Ryan Helsley took his third blown save after allowing a run in the ninth in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Royals.
Helsley gave up two singles and then a sac fly to blow a one-run lead. It’s not anything that was going to be held against him, and the Cardinals went on to win in 10 innings anyway. Helsley had converted nine straight save chances since last blowing one on Apr. 26 (that one also turned into a win).
  • KC Starting Pitcher #65
Noah Cameron shut out the Cardinals for six innings in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader.
He left with a three-run lead, but it vanished over the next two innings. Cameron gave up eight hard-hit balls today, but only two of them turned into hits. He walked two and struck out three. He’s sporting an exceptional 0.85 ERA through five big-league starts, though his 19/10 K/BB in 31 2/3 innings isn’t as encouraging. While he was expected to lose his rotation spot now with Cole Ragans coming off the IL, he’s definitely made a strong case to stick.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #53
Carlos Estévez took a blown save and a loss after giving up two runs — one earned — in the 10th inning Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader versus the Cardinals.
A single, an RBI groundout and another single was enough to doom Estévez today. None of the balls were hit harder than 88 mph. It’s the first loss of the year for Estévez and third blown save. One of the previous two was also a product of the automatic runner scoring in the 10th.
  • STL Catcher #48
Iván Herrera went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Royals.
The homer off Taylor Clarke gave the Cardinals a 4-3 lead in the eighth, though that would be blown. Herrera was terrific in his first 10 games back from the IL last month, but he’d slumped of late, going 6-for-38 with one extra-base hit in his previous 11 games. He hadn’t homered since May 12.
