Bryson Stott drove in a pair of runs on Friday night, accounting for all of the Phillies’ offense in a 2-0 victory over the Marlins.
Stott used his wheels in the fifth inning, beating out a potential inning-ending double play ball to score Whit Merrifield with the game’s first run. He then tacked on a valuable insurance run in the eighth with a sacrifice fly. The 26-year-old infielder finished the night 0-for-3 and is now hitting .239/.332/.359 with five homers, 38 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

Rockies OF prospect Yanquiel Fernandez went 3-for-6 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored for Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.
Fernandez now has seven home runs on the season to go along with a .254/.322/.592 slash line, 14 RBI, and 13 runs scored. He’s also struck out 13 times and walked six in 19 games, which is consistent with his decent strikeout rates throughout his minor league career. Fernandez is just 22 years old, but he also played 33 games at Triple-A last year, so he could push for a big league call-up if he continues to show this kind of power. Both Jordan Beck and Zac Veen didn’t make the most of their first MLB opportunities, and Fernandez is also on the 40-man roster, so perhaps he gets the next shot.
Cubs CF Crow-Armstrong has 'true star potential'
James Schiano discusses the breakout of Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong, explaining how the 23-year-old Los Angeles native has been able to turn his game around this season after struggling to start his career.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #37
Diamondbacks sent RHP Kevin Ginkel (shoulder) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Reno.
Ginkel had right shoulder inflammation at the end of spring training and will likely need a bit of time to ramp back up before being called up to Arizona. With A.J. Puk (elbow) sidelined and Justin Martinez dealing with shoulder fatigue, getting Ginkel back would be a big boost for the Arizona bullpen.
  • LAD Shortstop #94
Dodgers INF prospect Alex Freeland went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Freeland has started the year off going 31-for-93 (.333) with one home run, 21 RBI, six steals, and a 21:14 BB:K ratio in 23 games at Triple-A. The 23-year-old has shown impressive plate discipline in his minor league career and has back-to-back 30 stolen base seasons. What’s more interesting is that Freeland, a natural shortstop, has started seven games at third base this season. With Max Muncy struggling, the Dodgers could give Freeland a chance to play third or even try him at shortstop and move Mookie Betts back to the outfield.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #73
Phillies RHP prospect Mick Abel allowed one run on four hits in seven innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old struck out four and walked two on the day. In five starts this season, Abel has a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 30:11 K:BB ratio in 28 1/3 innings. He was once one of the top pitching prospects in baseball, but struggled badly last season. He seems to have turned things around a bit in 2025, and with Cristopher Sanchez battling an arm injury, Abel, who is on the 40-man roster, could get a shot to make his MLB debut soon.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #58
Twins optioned RHP David Festa to Triple-A St. Paul.
Festa went just four innings against the White Sox on Wednesday and has not pitched five innings in any of his three starts for the Twins this season. Part of that is certainly the Twins removing him early from games, but Festa has struggled enough with command to run up pitch counts in the mid-70s before he can get through five innings. The 25-year-old has plenty of talent, but it’s concerning enough for fantasy managers that Minnesota doesn’t seem to trust Festa to pitch deep into games. There’s no corresponding move announced yet, but Pablo López should be called up tomorrow.
  • MIN Catcher #11
Twins recalled INF/C Mickey Gasper from Triple-A St. Paul.
With Willi Castro landing on the injured list with an oblique injury, it will be Gasper coming up to take his place. He should operate as a bench bat for the next week or two.
  • MIN Shortstop #50
Twins placed INF/OF Willi Castro on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain.
Castro has missed five straight games, so the move is retroactive to April 21st. There’s no guarantee that Castro comes off the IL when he’s first eligible, but this will move up the timeline a few days. Mickey Gasper was recalled in a corresponding move, but it will likely be Edouard Julien and Brooks Lee getting regular starts while Castro is out.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #11
Maikel Garcia is leading off for the Royals in Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Rockies on Thursday and playing third base.
Garcia has been hitting mainly fifth in recent weeks, but with Jonathan India struggling and on the bench on Thursday, Garcia will get a shot to hit at the top of the order. This would be a big boost to Garcia’s fantasy value if he can remain at the top of the lineup. Michael Massey will hit sixth and play second base, while Cavan Biggio will bat fifth and play first base with Vinny Pasquantino at DH.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #25
Red Sox optioned RHP Josh Winckowski to Triple-A Worcester.
Winckowski threw 80 pitches in relief on Wednesday, so the Red Sox will send him back to the minors and bring up Luis Guerrero as a fresh arm in the bullpen. Winckowski has allowed five earned runs on 11 hits in 11 2/3 innings this season with nine strikeouts and five walks.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #99
Red Sox recalled RHP Luis Guerrero from Triple-A Worcester
The hard-throwing 24-year-old has allowed six earned runs on nine hits in 10 1/3 innings at Triple-A this year while striking out just seven batters and walking five. The Red Sox needed a fresh arm in the bullpen, so they’ll see if Guerrero can figure it out after posting a 3.31 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 79/32 K/BB ratio in 54 1/3 innings last year.
