Robbie Grossman is in the Rangers lineup against a righty Thursday for the first time since June 15.
It looks like Justin Foscue is already falling out of favor; after going 1-for-13 in his first four games with the Rangers, he’s on the bench for a second straight game today. That opened a spot for Grossman, who typically only plays versus lefties. He’s hit .164/.279/.206 in 86 plate appearances against righties this season.

Angel Martinez scored twice and stole a base while going 2-for-5 in a win for the Guardians over Atlanta on Saturday.
Martinez had one of four stolen bases for the Guardians on the night, and it gives him four on the year. The 24-year-old has really impresses over the first few weeks of the season, and the pair of knocks has his slash at .342/.419/.500. That’s not sustainable, but at 24, it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if Martinez had his breakout campaign in 2026.
'No one can touch' Miller right now
James Schiano outlines just how impressive Mason Miller has been for the Padres.
  • CLE 3rd Baseman #11
José Ramírez homered and stole two bases in a 6-0 win for the Guardians on Saturday over Atlanta.
That’s more like it. Ramírez has not had an effective first two weeks of the season, but Saturday was a very friendly reminder — to everyone but Atlanta and those facing him in fantasy leagues — of how silly it is to worry. His homer is the second of the season, while the steals double his total from two to four. The perennial MVP candidate is still hitting just .175/.277/.333, but it’s just a matter of time until those numbers sky rocket.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #33
Martín Pérez held the Guardians to just one run in five innings, but took a loss for Atlanta on Saturday.
It was a much more effective second outing for Pérez than his first (5 IP, 4 ER), but it ends with a loss because Atlanta could not solve Parker Messick and the Cleveland bullpen. The 35-year-old walked three, struck out two and allowed just a pair of hits. Unfortunately, one of those hits left the park, so it’s a hard-luck loss. Pérez shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups for his scheduled matchup against the Phillies on Sunday.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #77
Parker Messick held Atlanta off the scoreboard for 6 2/3 innings to get a win in a 6-0 victory for the Guardians on Saturday.
Messick didn’t exactly dominate the Atlanta lineup Saturday, generating only four swings and misses. He was effective nonetheless, scattering five hits, issuing two walks and still picking up five strikeouts with his deception. Messick has been outstanding to open the year, and his ERA is now a paltry 0.51 for his trouble. He’ll try and keep up the good work Thursday in a scheduled start against the Orioles.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #76
According to Just Baseball, the White Sox will call up Noah Schultz to make his major league debut Tuesday against the Rays.
Schultz, 21, has allowed two earned runs with a 19/2 K/BB in 14 innings over three starts for Triple-A Charlotte, maxing out at 73 pitches. Control was quite a problem for him last year, when he finished with a 76/45 K/BB and a 4.68 ERA in 73 innings between Double- and Triple-A. He’s also yet to throw more than 88 innings in a season. It’ll be fun to see what he can do, but he’s probably not a mixed-league pickup immediately.
  • SF 2nd Baseman #1
Luis Arraez left Saturday’s game against the Orioles with a right wrist contusion.
Arraez was kicked by Dylan Beavers in the fourth as he was coming in on a grounder and Beavers was making his way from first to second. He stayed in initially and singled in the top of the fifth, but he was replaced by Christian Koss before the bottom of the fifth. He’s probably day-to-day.
  • FA Designated Hitter #3
Justin Turner said Saturday that he’s signing with the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League.
The 41-year-old Turner couldn’t find a major league deal over the winter, but he’s not giving up yet. The Toros’ season starts next week. We haven’t seen the whole roster, but former major leaguers Wilmer Flores, Franchy Cordero, Junior Lake and Greg Allen also appear set to be on the team.
  • TB Left Fielder #11
Gavin Lux left his rehab game with Triple-A Durham in the fifth inning Saturday because of an apparent leg injury.
Lux, on the IL with a shoulder impingement, was finally showing signs of life today, doubling twice in the first game of a doubleheader. He had been 1-for-24 through seven games. The injury came in the second game tonight while he was running out a grounder.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #6
Ryan Mountcastle left Saturday’s game against the Giants with left foot pain.
Mountcastle fell to his side after hitting a double, and he was unable to continue. The 29-year-old was only in because of Adley Rutschman’s ankle injury, and it appears Baltimore may have another player that won’t be available. The severity of Mountcastle’s injury should be made public soon.
  • ATH Left Fielder #21
Tyler Soderstrom went 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBI to power the Athletics to an 11-6 win over the Mets on Saturday.
Soderstrom had a breakthrough game at the plate on Saturday, starting with a two-run blast off Kodai Senga in the third inning. He added a base hit in the fourth, then padded the A’s lead with a three-run blast off Luke Weaver in the eighth for his second homer of the game and first two of the season. It was only a matter of time for the 24-year-old slugger to get going.
