Phillies SS prospect Aidan Miller went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer on Friday for High-A Jersey Shore.
Miller has homered in back-to-back games and has reached base safely in 10 of 12 contests since the start of August. The 20-year-old shortstop has cooled off in recent months after making a huge leap up industry-wide dynasty rankings in the earlier stages of the year. He’s worked his way into the conversation of the elite shortstop prospects in the game, even though his ultimate defensive home might be the hot corner, and he’s a likely top-25 overall prospect heading into next year.

Reds signed RHP Deivi Garcia to a minor league contract.
The 26-year-old hurler was cut loose by the Brewers last week after posting a 5.45 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 27/17 K/BB ratio over 33 innings in 10 appearances (six starts) at Triple-A Nashville. He’ll add rotation depth in the upper minor leagues for the Reds.
Bednar one of most dominant relievers in baseball
James Schiano discusses the emergence of David Bednar, explaining how he put a disastrous 2024 season behind him to rebound this year, which could lead to him being traded to a postseason contender prior to the deadline.

Reds optioned LHP Joe La Sorsa to Triple-A Louisville.
The 27-year-old southpaw was only with the Reds for a couple of days to provide their bullpen with a fresh arm. He has made two appearances with the big league club this season, registering a 18.00 ERA, 3.50 WHIP and a 0/2 K/BB ratio in two innings of work. He’ll continue to refine his craft at the Triple-A level.
  • KC Center Fielder #8
Drew Waters is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s showdown against the Yankees.
It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 26-year-old outfielder. Waters has been unimpressive in his time with the Royals this season, slashing .269/.307/.359 with one homer, 13 RBI, and five stolen bases in 176 plate appearances. Nick Loftin will start in his place in left field and will bat seventh against Yankees’ right-hander Will Warren.
  • TEX Right Fielder #53
Adolis García hit a three-run homer in a blowout win over the Twins on Thursday.
García was able to draw a pair of walks as well. His three-run homer gave the Rangers a 13-1 lead in the sixth, and gave García eight homers in 2025. That’s his first homer in the month of June, and just his third extra-base hit since the calendar turned over.
  • TEX 3rd Baseman #21
Jake Burger went 3-for-6 with a homer and three RBI in a blowout win over the Twins on Thursday.
Burger smoked a solo homer off Bailey Ober; one of four homers that Ober allowed and one of six that the Rangers hit overall. The 29-year-old infielder also singled in two runs to give Texas a 10-1 lead. After an atrocious start to his season, Burger is starting to see some results to improve his slash to .225/.255/.421 with 10 homers and 28 RBI.
  • TEX Left Fielder #32
Evan Carter homered and stole a base in a blowout win Thursday over the Twins.
Carter socked one of six homers for the Rangers in the blowout victory, and his was a solo shot off Bailey Ober in the fifth inning. He’s up to four homers on the year, and his steal gives him five. Those numbers are more impressive when you remember that Carter has only played in 19 games, and it’s a wonderful reminder of why he was considered one of the top prospects in baseball, and a big reason the Rangers won a title in 2023. Carter has the upside to be a fantasy stalwart throughout his career.
  • TEX Left Fielder #36
Wyatt Langford homered and reaches four times in a 16-3 rout of the Twins on Thursday.
Langford and the Rangers were able to hit a whopping six homers in the contest, and Texas was also able to draw nine walks while picking up 16 hits. Langford was responsible for two of those free passes on top of a three-run shot off Bailey Ober in the second inning. The 23-year-old was hitting just .176 with a .510 OPS in June, so the hope is this is the spring forward for the talented outfielder to get back to doing what he does best.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #46
Patrick Corbin picked up a win after allowing three runs over five innings against the Twins on Thursday.
Corbin fired eight innings of two-run baseball his last time out and took a loss. He was able to get the win despite being decidedly worse the next time out. Just saying. The left-hander allowed six hits and walked three, and he was able to strikeout a solid — if unspectacular — six over 91 pitches. Corbin has been so much better than anyone could have imagined after his struggles the past few years, and he’ll take a 3.66 ERA into a scheduled start against the Royals on Wednesday.
  • BAL Center Fielder #31
Cedric Mullins is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for Thursday night’s tilt against the Tigers.
The 30-year-old outfielder started each of the first two games in his return from the injured list, but he’ll take a seat on Thursday evening with tough opposing southpaw Tarik Skubal taking the mound for the Tigers. Colton Cowser will cover center field and bat ninth for the O’s on Friday.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #17
Bailey Ober gave up seven runs in Thursday’s loss to the Rangers while working 4 2/3 innings.
Ober gave up four of the six homers the Rangers hit in a 16-3 shellacking. The 29-year-old also issued a whopping six walks, so this could have gone lot worse if you think about it. It’s still an ugly outing, and one that pushes Ober’s record to 4-3 and his ERA up to 4.40. He’ll need to have much better command pitching in Cincinnati next week.
