Orioles activated RHP Zach Eflin off the 15-day injured list.
Eflin is back and starting Sunday’s game against the Rockies. The right-hander missed just the minimum stint on the injured list with his shoulder inflammation, and he was excellent in his previous four starts with a 2.13 ERA and 25/2 K/BB over 25 1/3 innings. He’s worth streaming consideration even in Colorado.

Chandler Simpson is in left field and batting sixth on Saturday against the Cardinals.
Simpson came off the bench during Thursday’s season-opener at Busch Stadium with southpaw Matthew Liberatore taking the ball. The 25-year-old speedster figures to cede occasional starts against lefties to Ryan Vilade, despite posting respectable numbers against them last year. The interesting wrinkle is that he’s batting towards the bottom of the order, which limits his runs scored upside, but could result in a few additional stolen base opportunities to help manufacture runs.
Can Marlins progress towards competing in 2026?
The Dan Le Batard show debates how the Miami Marlins can get fans back into the good graces of the Miami fanbase and why 2026 might be the beginning of resurrecting that enthusiasm.
  • MIL Catcher #7
The Brewers are calling up catching prospect Jeferson Quero, reports Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Quero was one of the highest-ranked catching prospects in baseball a couple years ago before missing significant development time due to shoulder surgery back in 2024. The 23-year-old backstop is likely up with the club due to an injury situation with either William Contreras or Gary Sánchez ahead of Saturday’s game against the White Sox. We’ll have updates on the developing situation as they unfold.
  • WSH Shortstop #5
CJ Abrams is out of the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Cubs for personal reasons.
The Athletic’s Spencer Nusbaum reports Abrams is away from the team because of a death in the family. It’s possible he’ll be placed on the bereavement list to open up a roster spot if he’s going to be away from the club for a couple days. It’ll be Nasim Nuñez, who is a strong waiver wire pickup in deeper mixed leagues, taking over at shortstop on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
  • MIA 1st Baseman #63
Marlins recalled 1B Deyvison De Los Santos from Triple-A Jacksonville.
The move is now official. De Los Santos will see time at first base for the Marlins with Christopher Morel likely facing a multi-week absence with an oblique strain. The power-hitting 22-year-old’s fantasy stock tumbled last year when he managed just 12 homers in 106 games at the Triple-A level following a 40-homer campaign in the upper minors back in 2024. The massive over-the-fence power remains firmly intact but he’s going to strike out a fair amount, especially as he faces big-league arms for the first time. There’s enough power potential to make De Los Santos interesting in deeper mixed leagues, but a wait-and-see approach feels right in shallow mixers.
  • MIA Left Fielder #5
Marlins placed 1B/OF Christopher Morel on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 25, with a left oblique strain.
  • STL Catcher #48
Iván Herrera is starting at catcher at batting second on Saturday against the Rays.
It’s a notable development from a fantasy perspective that Herrera will make his first appearance behind the plate after injuries limited him to just 14 games there last season. The 25-year-old backstop, who also dealt with knee inflammation during the late stages of spring training, should regain catcher eligibility in most formats within a few weeks, positioning him as an upper-echelon option at the position for the foreseeable future.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #21
Mets RHP prospect Jonah Tong recorded four strikeouts over four shutout innings on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse.
Tong was hit hard during a brief five-game cameo with the Mets late last season and failed to make the club’s season-opening rotation out of spring training. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect offers enough strikeout potential to be a useful fantasy arm but he’s going to have to wait for his opportunity with New York’s rotation mix overflowing with both talent and depth.
  • SD Relief Pitcher #37
Padres signed RHP José Leclerc to a minor league contract.
Leclerc made just 10 relief appearances for the Athletics before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery last August. The 32-year-old veteran reliever has plenty of high-leverage experience from his closing days with the Rangers and represents a worthwhile low-risk gamble for the Padres on the chance that he’s able to contribute later this season.
  • BOS 2nd Baseman #2
Red Sox re-signed 2B Brendan Rodgers to a minor league contract.
Rodgers returns to Boston on a new minor league pact after undergoing right shoulder surgery earlier this month. The 29-year-old infielder will spend at least a couple months rehabbing before he’s ready to return to game action. The odds of him contributing for the Red Sox later this season are extremely low.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #54
Rangers re-signed RHP Ryan Brasier to a minor league contract.
Brasier is back in the fold with the Rangers as middle relief depth at Triple-A Round Rock after failing to make the club as a non-roster invitee earlier this spring. The well-traveled 38-year-old
