Casey Mize allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Tigers’ 4-3 victory over the Padres on Thursday.
Mize gave up six hits, walked one and struck out two. In 18 starts this year, Mize has six quality starts and has struck out more than six batters only once. He’s far from an exciting fantasy option. Mize is 2-6 with a 4.30 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 64 strikeouts in 90 innings this year. The 27-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rockies at home next week.

Blue Jays placed RHP Trey Yesavage on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a right shoulder impingement
Brown, Cease sneaky picks to win AL Cy Young award
Jay Croucher and Trysta Krick predict who will win the American League Cy Young award, sharing why Astros pitcher Hunter Brown is a good bet and Blue Jays starter Dylan Cease has "killer stuff" and a "lot of upside."
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #57
Blue Jays placed RHP Shane Bieber on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with right elbow inflammation.
  • TOR Starting Pitcher #17
Blue Jays placed RHP José Berríos on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a right elbow stress fracture.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #93
Blue Jays placed RHP Yimi García on the 15-day injured list.
García is making steady progress back from last year’s right elbow ulnar nerve and AC joint surgery but will require additional time to build up his arm strength before returning to Toronto’s high-leverage relief mix.
  • TOR Right Fielder #25
Blue Jays placed OF Anthony Santander on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a left shoulder labral tear.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #52
Blue Jays optioned RHP Chase Lee to Triple-A Buffalo; designated RHP Angel Bastardo and INF Leo Jiménez for assignment.
Lee opens the year on the doorstep of the big leagues after being acquired from the Tigers in an offseason trade. Bastardo and Jiménez lose their spots on Toronto’s 40-man roster but are decent bets to pass through waivers unclaimed and remain with the organization.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #46
Brewers placed RHP Quinn Priester on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with thoracic outlet syndrome.
The most optimistic estimate puts Priester’s potential return sometime around late April or early May. Given the serious nature of the nerve-related issue he’s recovering from, fantasy managers should anticipate Milwaukee taking a cautious approach with his ramp-up process. The 25-year-old’s absence opens the door for Brandon Sproat and Kyle Harrison to get early-season looks in the majors.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #58
Brewers placed LHP Rob Zastryzny on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a left shoulder strain.
Zastryzny’s absence is a hit to Milwaukee’s left-handed relief depth at the outset of the year. The 33-year-old journeyman made 26 appearances for the Brewers last year, finishing with a 2.45 ERA and 20/10 K/BB ratio over 22 innings of work.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #48
Brewers placed RHP Craig Yoho on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a right calf strain.
Yoho has put up otherworldly numbers in the minor leagues throughout his career, but wound up getting hit really hard in his first taste of the majors last year. The 26-year-old will be an option for Milwaukee in middle relief situations at some point in a few weeks, if not sooner.
  • MIL Right Fielder #35
Brewers placed OF Steward Berroa on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 22, with a right shoulder strain.
Berroa is likely to head to Triple-A Nashville as organizational depth once he wraps up a minor league rehab assignment. The 26-year-old outfielder appeared in two games for the Brewers last year.
