Shane Smith allowed three runs with three strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a no-decision against the Red Sox on Saturday.
Smith went toe-to-toe with Garrett Crochet and the Red Sox through four scoreless innings before surrendering a three-run homer to Rafael Devers in the fifth. His day would be done with two outs in the inning at 73 pitches. The 25-year-old right-hander has been a nice surprise for the White Sox, posting a 2.82 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 15/8 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to take on the Twins in Minnesota on Thursday.
