Sonny Gray surrendered three runs in six innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Brewers.
A bare-minimum quality start for the second straight outing. Gray had his best velocity of the year today, averaging 92.8 mph with his sinker, but he gave up 10 hard-hit balls and seven hits anyway. Gray remained 3-0 with a 3.60 ERA for the season. No one who drafted Gray in early March, before he turned in his bad spring and produced some mildly disturbing injury news at the end of the month, can complain about his performance thus far. For those who drafted just prior to Opening Day, he’s looking like a bargain. He’ll face the Mets next.
