Royals sent C Luke Maile outright to Triple-A Omaha.

Maile was designated for assignment and unsurprisingly went unclaimed on the waiver wire. The 34-year-old could elect free agency, but is just as likely to report to Omaha as organizational depth.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Mitch Bratt from Triple-A Reno.

Bratt will start for the Diamondbacks against the Dodgers on Sunday in place of the injured Zac Gallen (elbow). The 23-year-old righty has made one start for the big league club this season, giving up one run and striking out three batters in just three innings of work. He may get an opportunity to stick around time with Gallen out indefinitely.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Zac Gallen on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 9, with right elbow inflammation.

Gallen was scratched from Sunday’s start against the Dodgers due to the issue with the expectation that he would also be placed on the injured list. The 30-year-old hurler has had an abysmal season for the Diamondbacks, registering a 6.34 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 61/31 K/BB ratio over 98 innings of work. There’s no clear timeline for his return.

Rangers recalled RHP Emiliano Teodo from Triple-A Round Rock.

It’s the first time that the 25-year-old hurler has received the call to the big leagues. Teodo holds a 3.76 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and a 52/35 K/BB ratio over 40 2/3 innings in 35 appearances at Triple-A Round Rock this season. Expect him to function in a middle relief role for the Rangers.

Rangers placed RHP Chris Martin on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Martin missed the entire month of June with the same issue, returning from the injured list on July 4. Now he’s back on the shelf with no clear timeline or when he may be able to rejoin the Rangers’ bullpen. Emiliano Teodo was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take his place.

Jacob Misiorowski (fatigue) will not start for the Brewers in the first series after the All-Star break.

The Brewers plan to have their star right-hander resume throwing on Tuesday and make his first start of the second half in the second series against the Mets. It still sounds like it’s just fatigue that Misiorowski is working through and there are no plans to place him on the injured list, though fantasy managers should monitor his status closely during and coming out of the All-Star break just to be sure.

Jake Fraley (shoulder) has been pulled off of his minor league rehab assignment after suffering a setback.

Fraley continues to have issues related to his recent hernia surgery and will return to the doctor to get a feel for what’s going on. At this point, there’s no clear timeline for the 31-year-old outfielder’s return. If you’re hanging onto him in deeper mixed leagues, it’s probably time to cut bait.

Marcus Semien (hip) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Double-A Binghampton on Sunday.

Semien is expected to remain there through the All-Star break, with the assumption that he’ll be ready to rejoin the Mets to start the season’s second half. The 35-year-old infielder has hit an underwhelming .214/.271/.341 with nine homers, 29 RBI and six stolen bases in his first 318 plate appearances with the Mets.

Giants optioned RHP Spencer Bivens to Triple-A Sacramento.

The 32-year-old hurler heads back to Triple-A to make room in the Giants’ bullpen for the return of Jason Foley on Sunday. Bivens has made two appearances with the big league club this season, working a pair of scoreless innings with a 2.00 WHIP and a 3/1 K/BB ratio. He should get another opportunity with the Giants before the summer is through.

Giants activated RHP Jason Foley from the 60-day injured list.

Foley has finally made it all the way back from offseason shoulder surgery and is ready to make his Giants’ debut. The former Tigers’ closer could work his way into the high leverage mix for the Giants if he pitches well and could be worth a look for those that are speculating on saves in deeper leagues.

Tyler Soderstrom is absent from the Athletics’ starting lineup for Sunday afternoon’s tilt against the White Sox in Chicago.

The A’s have been careful to ease Soderstrom back into action since his return from the injured list, so he’ll get another day off with left-hander Noah Schultz taking the mound for the White Sox in this one. Expect to see him utilized off the bench against a right-hander later in the game if needed. Joey Meneses will start in his place at first base and bat sixth for the A’s on Sunday.
