Jack Kochanowicz was charged with four runs in 3 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the Guardians.
In spite of some quick hooks, Kochanowicz has allowed at least four runs in half of his 12 starts. As a sinkerballer, he doesn’t need a ton of strikeouts to succeed. Still, he has to get his walk rate down. He issued three free passes today, hit a batter and threw a wild pitch. His K/BB stands at 44/32 in 64 innings on the season, and he’s 3-7 with a 5.34 ERA overall. If he remains in the rotation, he’ll face the Mariners next weekend.
