White Sox acquired RHP Duncan Davitt, RHP Ben Peoples, and 1B Curtis Mead from the Rays in exchange for RHP Adrian Houser.
Davitt is a 25-year-old starter at Triple-A, who posted a 4.08 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 105/21 K/BB ratio in 103 2/3 innings for Tampa Bay. The numbers aren’t bad, but he was not inside Tampa Bay’s top 30 prospects and relies on deception from his fastball/slider combination to get outs. There’s a chance he makes his MLB debut at some point this summer.

Rangers recalled OF Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock.
Osuna will take the place of the injured Michael Helman (hand) on the Rangers’ active roster. The 23-year-old has hit .253/.376/.275 with zero homers, nine RBI and four stolen bases in 110 plate appearances with the Rangers this season.
Marsee lays out to make an run-saving catch
Marlins center fielder Jakob Marsee goes all out to save a few runs, making a diving catch to get out of a bases-loaded jam and end the fifth inning.
  • TEX Center Fielder #23
Rangers placed OF Michael Helman on the 10-day injured list with a fractured hand.
Helman suffered multiple fractures in his hand when he was hit by a 99-mph sinker from Tayron Guerrero on Saturday night. No word yet on how long he’ll need to be sidelined for. Alejandro Osuna was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move on Sunday.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #75
Mariners’ closer Andrés Muñoz was removed from Sunday’s appearance against the Nationals due to an apparent injury.
The 27-year-old right-hander was brought in to start the eighth inning just to get some work in. He wound up facing just two batters, walking Jorbit Vivas and giving up an RBI double to Cole Young before being visited by the training staff and ultimately removed. It’s unclear exactly what occurred here, but the Mariners should have an update on Muñoz’s status after the game concludes. With Matt Brash also shelved, either Jose Ferrer or Eduard Bazardo would be the next man up to see save chances if Muñoz is forced to miss any time.
  • SEA 1st Baseman #12
Josh Naylor was removed from Sunday’s game against the Nationals after fouling a ball off of his right shin.
Naylor was down on all fours and in considerable pain for a minute but talked his way into staying in the game to finish the at-bat. He was ultimately removed with the M’s took the field for the sixth inning. He’ll head for X-rays to see if there’s any structural damage. Stay tuned.
  • MIA Catcher #80
Joe Mack went 1-for-3 and clubbed his second home run of the season on Sunday, helping to power the Marlins to a 4-2 victory over the Pirates in Pittsburgh.
Mack was ready for a 1-1 changeup from Paul Skenes in the second inning and blasted it for a 424-foot (102.3-mph EV) solo shot to center that increased the Marlins’ early lead to 2-0. The 23-year-old catcher also drew a walk in the ninth inning. His offensive production has picked up over the past couple of weeks, but he’s still slashing just .240/.291/.344 with two homers and 14 RBI over 105 plate appearances with the Marlins this season.
  • MIA Left Fielder #13
Heriberto Hernández went 1-for-4 and belted a solo home run on Sunday as the Marlins bested the Pirates at PNC Park.
The 26-year-old outfielder opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 403-foot (104.4-mph EV) solo shot off of Paul Skenes to open the second inning. That would be his lone hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. For the season, Hernández is now hitting .237/.308/.397 with six homers, 26 RBI and five stolen bases across 146 plate appearances.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #29
Pete Fairbanks closed out the Pirates on Sunday afternoon, allowing one run on one hit in his lone inning of work.
Fairbanks came on with a three-run advantage to protect in the ninth inning. He started out strong, striking out Spencer Horwitz and Brandon Lowe to start the inning before surrendering a solo homer to Bryan Reynolds. He then rebounded to get Ryan O’Hearn on a line drive to center to end it. For the season, the 32-year-old closer now sports a 6.75 ERA and 29/11 K/BB ratio over 20 innings of work while recording eight saves for the Marlins.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #23
Max Meyer outdueled Paul Skenes on Sunday afternoon, spinning six innings of one-run baseball in a victory over the Pirates.
Meyer punched out nine batters on the afternoon while scattering six hits and three walks. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single off the bat of Jake Mangum in the fourth inning. Meyer got 15 swings and misses on 105 pitches on the day, seven of those on his sweeper, while registering a strong CSW of 34 percent. He’ll look to replicate this fine effort as he carries a 7-0 record, 2.75 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 95/32 K/BB ratio (85 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Giants.
  • PIT Left Fielder #28
Jake Mangum went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and drove in a run during Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Marlins.
Mangum got the Pirates on the board in the fourth inning with an RBI single off of Max Meyer that plated Nick Gonzales and pulled them to within a run at 2-1. That would be as close as they would get. With his two-hit attack. the 30-year-old outfielder is now slashing a healthy .302/.355/.360 with one homer, 11 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 155 plate appearances on the season.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Paul Skenes was terrific in a tough luck loss against the Marlins on Sunday afternoon, allowing just two runs on four hits over his six innings of work.
Skenes racked up 10 strikeouts on the day while allowing only one base on balls. All of the damage done against him came on a pair of solo home runs in the second inning by Heriberto Hernandez and Joe Mack. Aside from that, Skenes was brilliant, he just didn’t get the necessary run support. The 24-year-old hurler got a whopping 23 swings and misses on 104 pitches in the game — 12 on his fastball — while posting an elite CSW of 35 percent. Now 6-6 on the season, he’ll bring a stellar 2.85 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and a 99/16 K/BB ratio (82 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Rockies in Colorado.
