Fluharty has been a fixture in the Jays’ bullpen this season, registering a 4.94 ERA, 1.27 WHIP an a 48/24 K/BB ratio across 47 1/3 innings in his 51 appearances. He’ll take the roster spot of Chris Bassitt who landed on the injured list on Saturday with inflammation in his lower back.

Whisenhunt appeared to be dealing with some sort of arm issue and left after tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings. He struck out three and only issued one walk. He was staked to an early five-run lead, but wound up departing after just 47 pitches. There should be an update on his status after the contest.

It’s been a recurring issue for Fairbanks, who dealt with a similar issue that required a trip to the injured list back in May. He’ll be reevaluated prior to Tuesday’s game before a decision on his next steps is made. The 32-year-old stopper was lifted from Monday’s appearance against the Red Sox after issuing a leadoff walk in the ninth inning of a tie ballgame. It would most likely be Calvin Faucher taking over as Miami’s primary closer in his absence. He’s worthy of a speculative roster spot in deeper mixed leagues.

Lile capped Washington’s unexpected 13-run offensive explosion with a three-run blast in the eighth inning. It was his 16th round-tripper of the season. Amazingly, the Nationals didn’t have a hit through four innings in this one, but still managed to put double-digit runs on the board. Lile has put together an outstanding all-around fantasy campaign, delivering top-30 range value among fantasy outfielders, hitting .246 with 66 runs scored, 16 homers, 71 RBI and 13 steals across 544 plate appearances.

Castro was one of the few bright spots for Colorado in this one as he kicked off the scoring with a solo homer off emerging Nationals ace Cade Cavalli in the fourth inning. It was his 15th big fly of the season and lone hit in four at-bats.

Abrams swiped second base in the opening frame to reach the lofty 25-steal plateau for the fourth consecutive season. Cubs burgeoning star Pete Crow-Armstrong, the presumptive favorite for the NL MVP Award heading into the final month of the season, is the only other player with 25 homers and 25 steals this season. He put Washington ahead for good with an RBI double in the fifth inning and looked like his usual self following a four-game absence due to a sprained left ankle.

Cavalli reeled off his ninth consecutive quality start and has accomplished the feat in an astonishing 26 of his 28 starts this season. The 28-year-old former top prospect allowed solo homers to Willi Castro and Ezequiel Tovar, but managed to keep Colorado’s offense in check otherwise. He’s notched at least seven strikeouts in four straight starts since August 8. Simply put, he’s looked like an upper-echelon fantasy starter for a couple months and is going to be an extremely popular early-round pick in drafts next spring. He’ll close out a two-start week with a tasty matchup against the division-rival Marlins on Saturday.

Feltner was in control early on before the wheels came off the metaphorical wagon in the middle innings. He was tagged for five runs in the fifth and didn’t make it out of the ensuing frame after putting a pair of runners on-base before departing. He struck out six and also issued four walks. He gave up six hits, but none of them wound up leaving the ballpark. He’s struggled to an inflated 6.08 ERA across 97 2/3 innings this season. He’ll square off against the Braves in a tough road matchup on Saturday.

Gasper also walked twice, reaching base safely in all four of his plate appearances. He came through with a key hit in this one, delivering a game-tying RBI double off Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara in the fifth inning. The big question is whether he’ll have a role once Roman Anthony (finger) is back from the injured list relatively soon. He’s been on a roll recently, hitting .421 (8-for-19) with three homers and 10 RBI over his last seven games.

Chapman was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and managed to work around a leadoff single by Owen Caissie to preserve the win. The 38-year-old veteran has notched three saves in the last four days and is just three shy of 400 for his career. He’s recorded back-to-back 30-save campaigns for the Red Sox as his unexpected late-career renaissance shows zero signs of slowing down. He joins Mariano Rivera, Trevor Hoffman and Lee Smith as the only relievers with 10 seasons in which they compiled 30-plus saves. Unreal.

Suarez was uncharacteristically wild in this one, handing out a season-high four free passes, in addition to hitting a pair of batters, needing a staggering 93 pitches to complete five frames. He finished with four strikeouts and managed to limit Miami’s lineup to just a second-inning sacrifice fly from Otto Lopez. He’s struggled to work deep into starts, pitching into the sixth inning just once in six outings since coming off the injured list on July 26. It hasn’t been a massive issue for the Red Sox since Brayan Bello has been a revelation coming out of the bullpen as a multi-inning weapon. He’ll get the ball against the Yankees in a challenging road tilt to close out a two-start week on Sunday.
