Nationals sent INF Trey Lipscomb outright to Triple-A Rochester.
Lipscomb, a 2022 third-round pick, got high praise from the Nationals going into the 2024 season and won a roster spot after just 152 games as a pro. Unfortunately, he’s mostly struggled since; he wound up hitting .200/.268/.232 in 61 major league games that season and he finished at .249/.305/.392 in Triple-A in 2025. He’s still just 25, but no one deemed him worth claiming off waivers. It’s his first outright assignment, so he’ll remain with the Nationals.
