The Blue Jays are signing Cody Ponce to a three-year, $30 million contract, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Toronto continues to fortify its rotation shortly after inking Dylan Cease to a massive seven-year $210 million contract. The 31-year-old right-hander was one of the true X-factors on the open market this offseason after a remarkable run in Korea with the Hanwha Eagles, where he overhauled his arsenal, added velocity, and dominated to the tune of a microscopic 1.89 ERA and stellar 252/41 K/BB ratio across 180 2/3 innings over 29 starts last season. He’ll slot in as a back-end stabilizer for the Blue Jays behind Kevin Gausman, Cease, Shane Bieber and rookie sensation Trey Yesavage. From a fantasy standpoint, it’s a compelling landing spot — he has a relatively clear path to a rotation spot on a title contender and enough swing-and-miss ability to matter in deeper mixed leagues, even in the AL East’s unforgiving environments. He’s a late-round dart throw worth monitoring closely next spring.

Richard Lovelady will serve as an opener on Tuesday against the Marlins.
After pitching relatively well in his tenure with the Nationals, Lovelady has allowed three runs on five hits in one inning over his last two appearances. He can be dropped in most fantasy formats.
Reynolds putting together a solid season
Bryan Reynolds has been heating up as of late, with the two-time All-Star proving he still has plenty left in the tank for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • WSH Center Fielder #3
Dylan Crews is starting in right field and batting sixth against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Crews missed two games after being hit in the hand by a pitch, but he’s back in the lineup now. In 43 plate appearances in May, he’s gone just 9-for-41, but he has a 41.1 percent hard-hit rate, 86 percent zone contact rate, and solid exit velocities. His production should come around soon.
  • NYY 3rd Baseman #14
Yankees reinstated INF/OF Amed Rosario from the paternity list.
Rosario missed just two games and will come back in time for the Yankees to face left-hander Joey Cantillo. We’d expect Rosario to be in the lineup tonight.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #89
Reds designated LHP Brandon Leibrandt for assignment.
Leibrandt was just called up on Monday after posting a 5.23 ERA in 11 Triple-A starts this season. He was called up to pitch on Monday, with Chase Burns (illness) unable to pitch. He allowed five runs on 10 hits in six innings. It’s likely that he clears waivers and re-signs with the Reds on a minor league contract.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #72
Reds designated RHP Lyon Richardson for assignment.
Richardson had a rough outing on Monday, allowing four runs on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts. That may have been his final outing as a member of the Reds. Richardson will likely clear waivers, and he can opt to re-sign with the Reds on a minor league deal if he wants.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher
Reds selected the contract of RHP Zach McCambley from Triple-A Louisville
McCambley came to the Reds two weeks ago as part of the Rece Hinds trade with the Marlins. A former starting pitcher, McCambley has a 2.37 ERA and 37/18 K/BB ratio in 30 1/3 innings in 15 appearances (two starts) in Triple-A this season. He will provide depth out of the bullpen.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #47
Reds recalled RHP Luis Mey from Triple-A Louisville
Mey was last with the Reds for the first two weeks of May. He has posted a 3.38 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and a 13/5 K/BB ratio across eight innings so far this season.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #62
Marlins optioned RHP Zach Brzykcy to Triple-A Jacksonville
Brzykcy was just called up on Monday to give the Marlins some fresh arms in the bullpen. He’ll now head down so the Marlins can call up Ryan Gusto to be a bulk reliever on Tuesday.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #65
Marlins recalled RHP Ryan Gusto from Triple-A Jacksonville
Gusto has previously worked as a starter, but he’s been both a starter and reliever for the Marlins in Triple-A, posting a 3.83 ERA and 52/17 K/BB ratio in 44 2/3 innings across 10 appearances (seven starts). The 27-year-old is also striking out more batters than he ever has in his minor league career, in part, due to a revamped slider, which is two mph harder and has become a bigger part of his arsenal. Equipped with a six-pitch mix, Gusto could find himself on the streaming radar if that slider has taken a legitimate step forward.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #59
Braves selected the contract of RHP Carlos Carrasco to the major league roster.
The 39-year-old Carrasco has twice been designated for assignment by the Braves this season and signed back to the team. This will now be the third time they have selected his contract to the big league roster. Carrasco has allowed two runs on six hits in 7 1/3 innings while striking out four and not walking a batter. It remains to be seen how long he’ll last on the roster this time.
