A.J. Minter (lat) will progress to facing hitters next week.

Minter is ticketed for the injured list to open the regular season but should return to New York’s high-leverage mix behind new closer Devin Williams in the early portion of the year. The 32-year-old southpaw is recovering from surgery to repair a torn left lat muscle last May. He’s on track to make his first Grapefruit League appearance before spring training wraps up.

White Sox 'aren't going away' in second half
With an impressive first half of the season wrapped up, the White Sox picked up where they left off by taking the series in Toronto as they aim to cement their place atop the AL Central.

Francisco Lindor went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, a double, three RBI and two walks against the Phillies on Sunday.

Lindor’s home run was his sixth of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Alan Rangel in the first inning. Lindor also had a single and a double, leaving him a triple shy of the cycle. He added two walks, reaching base five times. Sunday was undoubtedly a bright spot in what’s been a season to forget for Lindor. Injuries have limited him to 43 games and he’s hitting .220 with a .694 OPS and 15 RBI.

Alan Rangel allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Mets on Sunday.

Rangel gave up seven hits, walked three and struck out four. He fell to 0-3 with the loss. Rangel gave up two runs in the first inning on a two-run home run to Francisco Lindor. He allowed three more runs in the second inning during a rally that included four hits, a walk and a sacrifice fly. Rangel has a 5.40 ERA heading into his start against the Yankees at home next weekend. He’s not worth rostering in most fantasy leagues.

Elmer Rodriguez will be the 27th player for the second game of a doubleheader against the Yankees on Sunday.

Rodriguez has a chance to be a multi-inning option for a bullpen game against the Dodgers. The 22-year-old will likely be sent right back down to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre regardless if he pitches during that contest or not.

Casey Mize left Sunday’s start against the Angels with an apparent hand injury.

Mize took a 108.8 mph ground ball from Jo Adell and was unable to continue. The Tigers will assuredly have the right-hander undergo testing to determine the severity of the injury, and there should be an update either during the game or shortly after.

Nolan McLean tossed six scoreless innings and got the win in the Mets’ 6-1 victory over the Phillies on Sunday.

McLean gave up two hits, walked two and struck out 10. He improved to 7-6 with the win. McLean had been pitching well in his last three starts entering Sunday with only two runs allowed in 18 innings with 19 strikeouts. Against the Phillies, he was dominant with 10 strikeouts and only four baserunners allowed. McLean has a 3.34 ERA. He’s lined up to face the Dodgers at home next weekend.

Ryan Yarbrough will be the opener for the second game of a doubleheader against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Yarbrough will get the lefties at the top of the lineup for the Dodgers, and while he has a starting background, it seems unlikely he’ll go more than an inning or two. Obviously, that doesn’t give him much of a chance for fantasy success, even before you consider those lefties he’ll be facing are pretty good.
