The Brewers scored the next 14 runs afterwards, so the excitement didn’t last long. Meidroth did reach twice more, though, both on walks. His homer had an EV of 107.7 mph and was projected at 417 feet, so that’s really encouraging. Last year, he topped out at 107.1 mph and never hit a ball farther than 395 feet. Meidroth has a terrific approach, and a little extra pop could make him a decent MI option in mixed leagues.

Burger is enjoying a good start at the dish. After going deep in Thursday’s opener, he went yard again Saturday with a two-run blast off Aaron Nola in the third inning. He later added a single in the eighth for his second hit of the game and fifth through two contests. Burger was limited to 103 games last season, but still managed 16 homers. There’s plenty of power here if he can stay off the injured list.

Seager put the Rangers on the board early with a solo homer off Aaron Nola in the first inning for his first home run of the season. He added a base hit in the fifth and drew a walk to lead off the eighth to reach for a third time. That’s two multi-hit games to start the season for the 31-year-old slugger.

This one was a combined blown save from the Rangers’ top two closer candidates. Robert Garcia started the inning with a three-run lead. He got two quick outs before a single and a walk put two runners on. Martin came in to face right-hander Adolis García, who doubled to score a run. Brandon Marsh then knocked a base hit to tie the game. Martin eventually got out of the inning tied before Tyler Alexander secured a save in the tenth inning for Texas, with Martin credited for the win. Expect Garcia and Martin to continue to work in a committee for save chances.

Duran came out for the top of the tenth inning after the Phillies tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. He allowed a base hit before a wild pitch scored one run. Duran then struck out a pair of batters, followed by an RBI single by Andrew McCutchen. Duran would take his first loss of the season.

Latz got the call on short notice to fill in for Jacob deGrom (neck). It was no problem for the 29-year-old southpaw as he held the Phillies without a hit over four scoreless frames. He issued one walk while punching out three before ending his day at 68 pitches -- 42 strikes. Latz will likely shift back into long relief as long as deGrom is ready to rejoin the rotation in the coming days.

Nola recorded two quick outs before Corey Seager did damage early, taking him deep for a solo homer in the first inning. Jake Burger later took him deep for a two-run blast in the third. Nola gave the Phillies two more scoreless innings, ending his day after five with an impressive seven strikeouts on 14 swinging strikes. The 32-year-old right-hander will take on the Rockies in Colorado on Friday.

Lewis had a great day at the plate to lead the Twins to a win on Saturday. He took Kyle Bradish deep for a two-run blast to give the team the lead in the fifth inning, then drew a walk and stole second before scoring in the seventh. The home run and stolen base in this one put Lewis’s high fantasy ceiling on display if he can manage to stay healthy.

Henderson is still searching for his first hit after two games. He struck out three times on Saturday but still contributed with a stolen base after he was hit by a pitch to get on base in the fifth inning. It’s just a matter of time before the talented 24-year-old shortstop gets going at the plate.

Sands the call in the ninth inning to close out the game with a three-run lead. He worked around a walk, striking out two batters to secure the win and his first save of the season. Manager Derek Shelton has stated that save chances will be based on a meritocracy. If Sands can remain effective, he’ll remain in the mix for ninth-inning opportunities. Just don’t expect a consistent source of saves coming from the team this season.

Bradley struck out the first two batters in the first before giving up a hit and walking two to load the bases. He was able to escape the jam with his third strikeout. Two hits in the second inning would put the Orioles on the board with a run. Bradley would settle in to hold Baltimore to just the one run into the fifth. He struck out the first batter of the inning, his ninth of the game, and was done at 92 pitches. Bradley generated an impressive 15 whiffs while sitting at 97.4 mph on the fastball, up from his 96.2 mph average last season. It was certainly an encouraging start for the 25-year-old right-hander. He’ll look to follow it up against the Rays in Minnesota on Friday.
