Eduardo Rodriguez was brilliant in a no-decision against the Braves on Friday evening, scattering just four hits over seven innings of shutout baseball.
The 32-year-old southpaw struck out three batters on the night while issuing only one base on balls. Unfortunately for him, the Diamondbacks couldn’t scratch out a single run of support, and he wound up settling for a no-decision. Rodriguez generated 11 swings and misses on 90 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 32 percent. He has yet to allow a run through his first 12 innings on the season while posting a pristine 0.92 WHIP and an 8/3 K/BB ratio. He’ll see if he can keep the good times rolling when he takes on the Mets in New York on Thursday. At this point, he’s worthy of a look in deeper mixed leagues.

Royals recalled RHP Eli Morgan from Triple-A Omaha.
The 30-year-old right-hander will rejoin the Royals’ bullpen for at least a few days with Seth Lugo (concussion) landing on the injured list. Morgan has made 13 appearances for the Royals this season, registering a 5.51 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and a 15/8 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings.
'Fire up' Skubal after quick recovery from injury
Returning from a remarkably quick recovery timeline, Tarik Skubal takes the mound once again this weekend. James Schiano shares what fantasy managers should expect from one of the game's true aces.

Royals placed RHP Seth Lugo on the 7-day concussion injured list.
Lugo is still feeling the effects of getting drilled in the head by a comebacker off the bat of Brandon Nimmo during his last start. While the Royals were hopeful that he would be able to take his next turn through the rotation, he’ll need to pass through the concussion protocol first before he’s cleared to return.
  • ATH Shortstop #5
Athletics activated SS Jacob Wilson from the 10-day injured list.
The 24-year-old infielder had been sidelined since May 11 due to a left shoulder subluxation. He returns at just the right time too as the A’s lose Brent Rooker (knee) to the injured list on Friday. Prior to landing on the shelf, Wilson had been hitting .292/.311/.398 with three homers, 19 RBI and a pair of steals in his first 39 games.
  • ATH Designated Hitter #25
Athletics placed OF Brent Rooker on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 9, with a bone bruise in his left knee.
Rooker had missed Wednesday’s game against the Brewers due to the issue and didn’t feel any improvement after Thursday’s off day, so they’ll sit him down and let the injury heal properly. Jacob Wilson was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move on Friday.
  • STL 1st Baseman #49
Blaze Jordan will start at third base and bat eighth for the Cardinals in his MLB debut against the Twins on Friday evening in Minneapolis.
With Nolan Gorman optioned to Triple-A, the runway is there for Jordan to get everyday at-bats with the Cardinals to show what he can do. The power potential is legit here, which may make him an intriguing addition in deeper mixed leagues.
  • CWS Shortstop #12
Colson Montgomery (back) rejoined the White Sox’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Dodgers.
The 24-year-old slugger had missed the team’s last two games after tweaking his back. He’s back at shortstop and in the cleanup spot for the White Sox against Dodgers’ right-hander Roki Sasaki on Friday evening in Chicago.
  • BOS 2nd Baseman #11
Marcelo Mayer (neck, back) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Rangers.
Mayer was held out of action on Wednesday due to neck and back spasms, but he appears to be doing much better after Thursday’s off-day. He’ll start at shortstop and bat eighth against Rangers’ right-hander Jack Leiter on Friday evening at Fenway Park.
  • TEX Shortstop #5
Corey Seager is not in the Rangers’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Red Sox.
The Rangers continue to monitor Seager’s workload as he ramps back up following a stint on the injured list, so expect to continue to see days off mixed in as necessary. Ezequiel Duran will start in his place at shortstop and will bat fifth for the Rangers on Friday evening against the Red Sox.
  • BAL Center Fielder #30
Leody Taveras is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for Friday evening’s tilt against the Padres.
It appears to be nothing more than a routine night off for the 27-year-old outfielder. Tyler O’Neill will start in his place in right field and will bat eighth for the O’s against Griffin Canning and the Padres.
  • PIT Catcher #13
Endy Rodríguez (hip) returned to the Pirates’ starting lineup on Friday.
The 26-year-old backstop was pulled from Wednesday’s game due to left hip discomfort and sat out on Thursday as a precautionary measure. He’s back behind the dish and batting seventh for Friday evening’s battle against Sandy Alcantara and the Marlins.
