Phillies recalled RHP Seth Johnson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Johnson returns to Philadelphia’s bullpen with closer Jhoan Duran hitting the injured list with an oblique strain. The 27-year-old righty was shelled for five runs over 1 1/3 innings earlier this week in his season debut. He’s likely ticketed for low-leverage work.

Cal Raleigh (oblique) launched two home runs on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Tacoma.
Raleigh started at catcher and played five innings behind the dish. That was all he needed to crush a pair of homers, including a grand slam, during his second rehab contest. The 29-year-old backstop figures to need a couple additional tune-up contests since he’s been out since mid-May recovering from an oblique strain. It wouldn’t be surprising if he were ready to rejoin Seattle’s lineup later this week.
Soderstrom 'turning the corner' amid hot streak
Tyler Soderstrom's two-HR day was just the latest sign that the Athletics' slugger is in the middle of a hot streak. Eric Samulski says fantasy managers should expect the ball to "fly off his bat" as summer rolls on.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #49
Mariners acquired RHP Carson Fulmer from the Pirates for cash.
Fulmer augments Seattle’s middle relief depth on the doorstep of the majors after posting a lackluster 6.35 ERA across 34 innings at the Triple-A level this season. The 32-year-old journeyman hasn’t pitched in the majors since making 13 appearances for the Angels last year. He’s merely organizational depth at this stage of his career.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #41
Brewers re-signed RHP Jake Woodford to a minor league contract.
Woodford is back with Milwaukee after spending a few hours on the open market. The well-traveled 29-year-old posted a serviceable 6.94 ERA, 1.76 WHIP and 20/7 K/BB ratio across 23 1/3 innings with the Brewers before being designated for assignment last Friday.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #12
Casey Mize (adductor) allowed one run over five innings on Tuesday in a minor league rehab start for Low-A Lakeland.
Casey Mize averaged 93 mph on his fastball and topped out at 94.8 mph during the 55-pitch outing, according to MLB.com’s Jason Beck. He finished with five strikeouts and only issued one walk. He’ll likely require at least one additional tune-up outing to continue building up his pitch count before returning to Detroit’s rotation.
  • CHC Starting Pitcher #16
Cubs manager Craig Counsell confirmed that Matthew Boyd (knee) will be activated from the injured list later this week.
Boyd figures to take the ball at some point against the Giants at Oracle Park this weekend. It’s a favorable matchup right out of the gate for the veteran southpaw after missing five weeks recovering from knee surgery. There’s some definite fantasy appeal in deeper mixed leagues despite some mixed results during a rehab start for Triple-A Iowa over the weekend.
  • ATL Catcher #30
Braves manager Walt Weiss told reporters Drake Baldwin (oblique) will begin a minor league rehab assignment this weekend.
Baldwin is slated to take live batting practice later this week before heading out to kick off a rehab assignment. He’ll need at least a couple games to get back up to speed, especially from a catching standpoint. The 25-year-old burgeoning superstar has been on the shelf recovering from a mild right oblique strain since May 19. There’s a strong possibility he’s back in Atlanta’s lineup somewhere around mid-June.
  • LAA 3rd Baseman #10
Angels manager Kurt Suzuki confirmed Yoán Moncada will undergo right knee surgery next week.
Suzuki declined to elaborate on the specific procedure or how long Moncada will be sidelined. The 31-year-old was transferred to the 60-day injured list earlier this week in a procedural move. It’ll be Denzer Guzman handling the hot corner for the Angels until further notice.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher #68
Athletics recalled RHP Joey Estes from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Estes gets the call to fortify the club’s bullpen after Monday’s slugfest in Las Vegas. The 24-year-old has made 30 appearances in the big leagues for the Athletics since 2023. He’ll likely operate in long relief for now.
  • ATH Starting Pitcher
Athletics optioned RHP Kade Morris to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Morris earns a ticket back to the minors after being torched for nine runs over four innings by the Astros in his big-league debut over the weekend. He gave up nine hits, including a grand slam to Yordan Alvarez during the meltdown. The 23-year-old prospect will probably get another chance at some point later this summer.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #64
Cubs recalled RHP Tyler Ferguson from Triple-A Iowa.
Ferguson returns to the majors with Trent Thornton away from the team for a couple days on paternity leave. The 32-year-old was up with the Cubs last week but didn’t end up making an appearance before being sent back down.
