Twins placed OF Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list with a right hip impingement.

Buxton winds up requiring a trip to the injured list after aggravating a previous hip issue during Sunday’s series finale against the Yankees. It’s a concerning development for the Twins, and fantasy managers, and it likely eliminates any chance of him playing in next week’s All-Star Game in Philadelphia. There should be a definitive update on his status and clear return timetable at some point later this week.
Giants' Ramos a 'great option' off waiver wire
James Schiano explores what fantasy managers should make of Heliot Ramos' massive performance on Monday against the Blue Jays, including why he can be a valuable addition off waivers.

Padres recalled RHP Jhony Brito from Triple-A El Paso.

Brito hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2024 campaign after missing last year following UCL surgery. He’s posted a strong 2.30 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 36/15 K/BB ratio across 43 innings over 10 starts in the minors this season. He’s likely to operate in a swingman-type role for the Padres as they continue to cobble together some semblance of a rotation.

Mets activated 1B Jorge Polanco from the 60-day injured list.

Polanco returns to New York’s infield picture for the first time since April 14. The 33-year-old veteran will provide some stability at first base after battling an Achilles issue for the last few months which has limited him to just 14 games this season. The hope is that he’ll be able to manage the ongoing issue and avoid surgery until the offseason.

Michael Harris II is in center field and hitting leadoff on Tuesday against the Pirates.

Harris tore the cover off the ball during a four-game series against the Mets, going 10-for-20 with nine RBI, while notching four straight multi-hit performances during that span. The 25-year-old is atop Atlanta’s lineup for the second consecutive contest and is hitting .319 (38-for-119) with four homers, 21 RBI and two steals over his last 30 games. He’s legitimately one of the hottest hitters in baseball leading into the All-Star break. He’ll face a tough test with Pirates ace Paul Skenes on the mound for Tuesday’s series opener.
