Rockies selected the contract of LHP Sean Sullivan from Triple-A Albuquerque.

The 23-year-old hurler will start for the Rockies on Friday night against the Athletics in West Sacramento in what will be his MLB debut. Sullivan made 11 starts at the Triple-A level this season, posting an unsightly 5.60 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 50/19 K/BB ratio over 54 2/3 innings. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

The Braves have Michael Harris II leading off and Drake Baldwin batting fifth against Brewers lefty Shane Drohan on Sunday.

Dropping Baldwin from the top of the order against lefties seems like the right call. Harris is sort of a surprising choice to lead off against a lefty, but he has been pretty successful against them this year, hitting .281/.319/.468. Harris has been batting cleanup against righties and fifth or sixth versus lefties.

Bo Naylor is serving as the Brewers’ 27th man in Sunday’s Little League Classic.

It’s not an official callup, but it’ll be Naylor’s first appearance in a Brewers uniform since he was acquired from the Guardians on Aug. 1.

Mariners placed 3B Brendan Donovan on the seven-day concussion injured list, retroactive to Aug. 22.

Donovan was hit in the head while in the batting cage prior to Saturday’s game. Weston Wilson and Patrick Wisdom will fill in for him until J.P. Crawford comes off the injured list.

Mariners recalled 3B Patrick Wisdom from Triple-A Tacoma.

Wisdom replaces Brendan Donovan for now, but that might only last until J.P. Crawford is activated. The veteran was 5-for-41 with a homer in 15 games for the Mariners earlier this season. He’s hit an exceptional .299/.385/.724 with 32 homers in 69 games for Tacoma.

Diamondbacks placed RHP Michael Soroka on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

Soroka, who is 8-4 with a 3.40 ERA in 18 starts this season, is down again after giving up six runs last night in his third start back from a glute strain. Kohl Drake could come back up to replace him on Thursday.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Gerardo Carrillo from Triple-A Reno.

Carrillo has a 0.66 ERA in 13 2/3 innings for the D-backs. He’d seem to deserve a full-time spot, but he might only be up until the D-backs need to add a starter Thursday.

Bryson Stott left Sunday’s game in the eighth inning after previously fouling a ball off his right foot.

Yet another day-to-day Phillies player. Luis Arraez, who didn’t start after leaving Saturday’s game with cramping, replaced Stott.

Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts told reporters on Sunday that he thinks Andy Pages underwent a minor surgical procedure to repair a left hand fracture.

There’s still no clear timeline for his potential return to action, but it’s encouraging to hear that the procedure was minor. As long as the Dodgers have him back in time for the postseason, they’re not going to rush his rehab.

Will Smith (neck) will begin a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Smith has finally progressed to the point where he’s ready for live game action after battling a neck issue since the middle of June. It’s not known how many games he’ll need there before he’s ready to rejoin the Dodgers, but it’s possible he could be ready by the end of next week.

Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts confirmed Sunday that Eric Lauer has been shifted back to a long relief role.

With Tyler Glasnow back and Shohei Ohtani nearing a return as well, there simply isn’t room to keep the 31-year-old southpaw in the club’s six-man rotation. He’ll be available out of the bullpen beginning on Tuesday.
