Marte only started three of six games for the Reds after being called up on June 3, but he’s now been in the lineup for four straight contests. One would figure he’ll continue to get everyday at-bats amid this hot streak, but the former top prospect has yet to establish himself as a consistent big-league regular. Marte has a 155 wRC+ at Triple-A this season, so he has nothing more to prove in the minors. His roto-friendly profile will receive a boost from hitting in Cincinnati all summer if he can stick as a regular this time around.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider told reporters that he thinks Guerrero will be ready for Wednesday’s series finale against the Mets. He added that he didn’t want to take any chances and risk a setback after Guerrero experienced some tightness while swinging before Tuesday’s game. He’s been battling through the lingering issue for the last couple weeks.

Stewart swatted a solo blast off an otherwise-effective Brandon Sproat for his 16th homer of the campaign. The rookie infielder drove in another run with a double in the sixth off Sproat to score Elly De La Cruz. Stewart ended June with four homers and 22 RBI, and while there have been some ups and downs for him in his first full year in the majors, there have been more than enough ups to suggest good things will continue through 2026 and beyond.

Bauers took advantage of a mistake from Rhett Lowder and hit it 425 feet to center. He also singled twice, and came around to score on both of those knocks. That homer was the 15th of the season for the 30-year-old, putting him just under a 30-homer pace. To say this has been the best season of Bauers’ career thus far is quite the understatement.

Chourio clobbered a solo homer in the eighth inning to extend Milwaukee’s lead to 7-2. He also drove in a run with a single in the fourth to bring his RBI total on the campaign to 33, while the homer was his 12th. Chourio has played at a star level since coming back from the injured list, and the pair of hits along with a walk now has him slashing .295/.349/.533. That’ll certainly play.

Sproat was able to generate 13 swings and misses in his outing, and he allowed only four hard-hit balls in the contest. He had very little issue in back-to-back outings against the Reds; firing 11 1/3 innings while allowing just two runs and striking out 17 over that timeframe. The former Met prospect has lowered his ERA to 5.28, and will try and keep his good run going against the Diamondbacks on Sunday in Arizona.

Lowder only gave up one walk and he was able to strike out eight, but he gave up a whopping 11 hits before exiting. There was some bad luck as the 24-year-old only allowed seven hard hits in the contest, but one was a solo homer by Jake Bauers, and a four-run fourth removed any chance this was going to be a literal or figurative quality start for Lowder. He’ll look to rebound against the Orioles on Sunday.

Abrams finds himself one round-tripper shy of matching last year’s 144-game total already after taking Red Sox veteran reliever Tommy Kahnle deep in the eighth inning of this one. It was his lone hit in five at-bats. The 25-year-old is the favorite to start at shortstop for the National League in the upcoming All-Star Game after putting together a monster first-half effort.

Wood came through with a game-tying RBI single in the fifth inning before giving Washington a commanding one-touchdown lead in the eighth inning with an RBI double to center field that put the metaphorical cherry on top of a three-hit performance.

Cavalli authored one of the most dominant outings of the season, retiring the final 19 batters he faced after Willson Contreras reached on a fielding error in the opening frame. A leadoff double from Anthony Seigler was the only hit he allowed. He was at the epicenter of a bench-clearing donnybrook a couple frames later that resulted in Contreras being ejected, while Cavalli avoided a similar fate despite appearing to spark the incident. The 27-year-old former top prospect generated an eye-popping 25 swinging strikes, including 15 on his four-seamer alone, and touched 99.6 mph in an otherworldly performance. He’ll face the Astros at home on Monday.

That makes for a fun 33rd birthday. Turner has homered in back-to-back games and scored in six games in a row. Over the last two weeks, he’s hit .345 with 16 runs scored and seven RBI in 13 games.
