Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook

Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

We’ll take a look at the three-game main slate starting at 7:00 ET on Saturday.

POINT GUARD

Russell Westbrook - Houston (vs. Atlanta)

I’m loading up on Rockets in tonight’s three-game slate. Houston checks in with the highest team total as 14 point home favorites inside a 236 over/under. That makes Russell Westbrook and James Harden two of the best overall plays at their respective positions. Their opponent, Atlanta, ranks 21st in defensive efficiency to opposing backcourts, and there’s a good chance they’ll both come up with strong fantasy numbers. The absence of Clint Capela and Danuel House (both doubtful) could push even more usage their way.

Also Consider: Eric Bledsoe, George Hill (value filler)

SHOOTING GUARD

James Harden - Houston (vs. Atlanta)

As mentioned in the previous write-up, the Rockets should put up some points tonight. Also, there’s enough plausible value in this three-game slate to realistically look towards Westbrook, Harden, and Antetokounmpo in the same lineup. That’s my initial strategy, assuming certain injury situations pan out (more on that later). As for Harden, he doesn’t need much explanation while averaging 58 FPPG on the season. He has topped 66 FP (FD scoring) in six of his last 12, and this is one of his better matchups over the last few weeks.

Also Consider: DeAndre’ Bembry, Ben McLemore

SMALL FORWARD

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee (vs. Charlotte)

I’ll repeat: you can squeeze Westbrook, Harden, and Antetokounmpo in the same lineup. It will require scrounging up value fillers like George Hill, Gary Clark, Ben McLemore, and/or others - but it is possible. Similar to the aforementioned Houston duo, Giannis is expensive as a significant home favorite (some blowout risk), but the matchup is enticing. He’ll take on Charlotte, who ranks 25th in team defensive efficiency so far. The “studs and scrubs” lineup strategy is alive and well on Saturday.

Also Consider: Miles Bridges, T.J. Warren

POWER FORWARD

Gary Clark - Houston (vs. Atlanta)

Clark is one of those cheap value fillers who will help us combine Westbrook, Harden, and Giannis. Clint Capela is doubtful tonight, and Clark stepped in for 29 fantasy points through 29 minutes with Capela out Wednesday vs. Miami. We can conservatively project Clark for 23-25 minutes, but there’s room for more playing time if things go well. Either way, he should be able to post a serviceable return on his near-minimum price point.

Also Consider: P.J. Tucker, Jabari Parker

CENTER

Bismack Biyombo - Charlotte (at Milwaukee)

Cody Zeller is questionable with a hip injury tonight. He missed the last two games, and Biyombo stepped in to average 34 fantasy points in 34 minutes over that span. If Zeller can’t go, Biyombo becomes a strong value choice despite his ascending salary. His opponent, Milwaukee, ranks second in pace and 19th in defensive efficiency to centers … If Zeller ends up playing, this could be a situation to avoid. I’d try pivoting to Brook Lopez as a mid-range pick in that instance. Damian Jones of Atlanta is a risk/reward tournament option for a cheap salary as well.

Also Consider: Brook Lope
