POINT GUARD

Dejounte Murray – San Antonio (at Oklahoma City) - DK: $7,400 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $31

The Spurs haven’t played since Valentine’s Day, and are severely short-handed tonight. That should make Murray and his heavy usage rate a popular choice at the point tonight, but there are enough alternative options that I think tournaments will be well-enough diversified for us to use him in every lineup. In his last game, Murray showed off some serious upside, which we could see against a Thunder team that gives up the fifth-most overall fantasy points, but even for a more realistic 45 fantasy points, Murray is worth the cost tonight. I’m locking in a lot of second-tier stars with ranges that overlap with the most expensive plays of the night, starting with Murray.

Also Consider: Chris Paul, Coby White, John Wall, Trae Young

Bargain options: Saben Lee, Jordan McLaughlin

SHOOTING GUARD

Collin Sexton – Cleveland (vs. Houston) - DK: $7,400 / FD: $6,900 / Yahoo: $27

Sexton’s salary has certainly risen, but he’s still a lot more affordable than Gilgeous-Alexander or LaVine, and I like him nearly as much. There’s hardly a player who has been more consistent for the price, making him basically a lock for 25-40 fantasy points. Against a Houston team that plays at the third-fastest pace and gives up the sixth-most overall fantasy points and most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards, I think we see Sexton at his best tonight.

Also Consider: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Zach LaVine, Devin Booker, Donovan Mitchell

Bargain options: Lonnie Walker, Josh Jackson

SMALL FORWARD

Kelly Oubre – Golden State (at Indiana) - DK: $7,000 / FD: $7,500 / Yahoo: $30

Oubre is one of my favorite players, but he can be frustrating to roster. Lately, he (fingers crossed) seems to be the consistent multi-category guy we grew to love. He’s averaging well over 40 fantasy points per game on this East Coast road trip, and even before had been rounding into slightly better shape. His shot volume is up slightly and he’s doing more in the hustle categories, with a notable six steals and four blocks in the last three games. This is a high scoring and potentially close game, making Oubre stand out as a strong SF play in any format tonight.

Also Consider: LeBron James, Jimmy Butler, Pascal Siakam

Bargain options: Saddiq Bey, Duncan Robinson, Danuel House

POWER FORWARD

Zion Williamson – New Orleans (vs. Detroit) - DK: $8,800 / FD: $8,500 / Yahoo: $37

Williamson is my cash game play at PF, while Domantas Sabonis is my GPP preference. Both should work in any lineup tonight, just depends on the site and the pricing. Williamson is just enough cheaper that it makes a difference in the floor of my team, but is producing at a high enough rate to carry a lower end guy like McLaughlin (see below). He notched nearly 50 fantasy points against the Pistons last week, and Detroit is well-known as one of the better PF matchups. The Pelicans are big home favorites, but win margin hasn’t been a major (negative) factor in Williamson’s huge lines lately.

Also Consider: Domantas Sabonis, Draymond Green, Thaddeus Young (PF/C)

Bargain options: Jae’Sean Tate, Kyle Kuzma, PJ Washington

CENTER

Montrezl Harrell – LA Lakers (at Utah) - DK: $6,300 / FD: $6,200 / Yahoo: $20

I like Capela, Allen and Turner, but Harrell without Anthony Davis at this salary is too good. Yes, Utah and Rudy Gobert are a very tough matchup, and the Lakers are significant underdogs tonight, but Harrell has been producing way over a fantasy point per minute lately including at least 31 fantasy points in three of his last four games. If you can afford to pay more for one of the guys below, go for it, but I do consider Harrell to be one of those cheaper options whose range overlaps the more expensive guys tonight.

Also Consider: Jarrett Allen, Myles Turner, Clint Capela, Rudy Gobert

Bargain options: Deandre Ayton, Wendell Carter, Jakob Poeltl

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Jordan McLaughlin (PG – MIN) is not a flashy name, but he has quietly been averaging about 23 fantasy points per game (with a narrow deviation from the mean) over the last seven games. He’s doing enough in every category to produce a steady box score for the salary without excelling anywhere. Chicago plays fast, ranking second in turnover rate, and this game has the second-highest point total of the night – all good signs that at least the cheap Minnesota players should reach value.

Saben Lee (PG – DET) costs only $3800 (DK), $12 (Yahoo) and $5000 (FD), reflecting a price increase only on DraftKings after last night’s second consecutive 30-plus fantasy point effort. He’s the better option for Detroit and us, although Dennis Smith Jr. did show up Tuesday. Lee is in a fantasy-friendly game with the Pelicans, who rank 28th in defensive efficiency and give up the seventh-most overall fantasy points. I expect Lee to be rostered at more than 45 percent tonight, but am doing it anyway.

Domantas Sabonis (PF – IND) is a player I can afford to spend on tonight with the sort of steady, mid-range nature of my build strategy. He gets a plus DvP matchup with Golden State in the game with the highest point total of the slate (228.5 points). The Pacers are slight home favorites, enjoy a significant pace bump from the Warriors, and Sabonis has been outstanding. We may not see 80-plus again tonight, but anything over 50 fantasy points is fine by me at this position.
