Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said RB Ashton Jeanty (ankle) will practice on Wednesday.

We expect this to be a limited session for the Raiders’ second-year running back. Jeanty has been sidelined since injuring his ankle on August 23rd. Returning for the week’s first official practice puts him on track to play, though the coaching staff could ease him into action in Week 1 against the Dolphins by giving rookie RB Mike Washington a little extra work this week. Hopefully, Jeanty is practicing fully by Friday, if not sooner.

Chris Simms and Connor Rogers look ahead to the Browns' trip to MetLife to play the Jets, where they predict Deshaun Watson will come back down to Earth as something finally gives for the Jets.

Kubiak didn’t get into real specifics about the injury when asked. Mike Washington just found his way into real contingency value and is a worthwhile stash/hedge anywhere he was dropped. Jeanty did not practice Friday after a limited session (and the addition of a foot tag) on Thurdsay, so this certainly doesn’t appear to be heading in the right direction. That said, we knew Jeanty would be managing something after the preseason ankle injury and the Raiders have given out rest days on Friday quite a bit already this year. Jeanty is likely something close to truly questionable.

Jeanty has been dealing with the ankle injury throughout the week, but the foot injury was added after Thursday’s practice. Jeanty was officially listed as limited on Thursday, but the Raiders’ RB1 was absent from the media portion of Friday’s practice. We will receive final word on his Week 5 availability soon, but rookie Mike Washington could be in line for a busy day against the Patriots if Jeanty is unable to go.

Oh, dear. Jeanty was a full participant yesterday, listed only with an ankle injury. Today, he was downgraded to limited and the Raiders tacked on a foot injury. The second-year running back has played through the nagging ankle injury thus far and could play through the pain again this weekend, but this situation must be closely monitored. Backup RB Mike Washington must be rostered in all formats.
  • The Raiders have struggled on the ground for most of the season, and that didn’t change in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. Washington’s biggest gain came on an 11-yard run, as he averaged less than 1.0 YPC on his other eight carries. Washington remains the top Raiders back to hold in the event of an injury to Ashton Jeanty, but he has no stand alone fantasy value at this time.

Jeanty was bottled up on the ground for most of the day. A 19-yard run he ripped off in the fourth quarter accounted for 32.8 percent of his yards on the ground, but his work in the passing game was enough to provide a solid day for fantasy managers. Jeanty’s six receptions tied a season-high for the second-year receiver, while his eight targets set a new season-high and tied a career-high he set last season. Jeanty briefly exited this game with what appeared to be a leg/ankle injury, but returned on the following drive after being evaluated. He hasn’t found the end zone since Week 1, but he remains a strong volume play heading into Week 5 against the Patriots. Jeanty’s work as a receiver is keeping in the RB1 ranks despite his struggles on the ground over the last three weeks.

Jeanty exited late in the third quarter with what appeared to be a right leg injury, but was back on the field to take a handoff on the next possession. With nearly a full quarter of play left in the game, we’ll see if Jeanty can finish this one out as the Raiders look to push their record to 4-0 for the season.

We’re waiting for an official diagnosis on this, but Jeanty appeared to have his leg rolled up on by a defender while being tackled in the backfield. Jeanty was seen walking gingerly to the field after going down and was tended to by trainers. Rookie Mike Washington will takeover in Jeanty’s absence.
  • Washington looks spry and powerful, as usual, but remains limited to a small workload despite Ashton Jeanty getting his ankles checked early in the game. Washington scored on the Raiders’ sixth drive on a run up the middle. Initially, it looked like the Saints had him bottled up when he met the linebackers just beyond the line, but Washington kept his legs moving and exploded out to the right and took off down the sideline and into the end zone. The officials initially ruled Washington out of bounds inside the Saints’ one-yard line, but Raiders coach Klint Kubiak challenged the spot and won. Touchdown. Washington remains an elite bench stash and touchdown-dependent FLEX in Week 4 against the Chiefs.

Jeanty touched the ball four times on the Raiders’ opening drive before visiting with Raiders trainers while the Saints carried out their second possession. The medical staff taped both of Jeanty’s ankles and had him ready to go before the Raiders got the ball back. He came up grimacing after his ensuing carry, but remained active throughout all four quarters and totaled 21 touches on the day. He earned an end zone target on a wheel route early on, but the ball was overthrown. Jeanty might show up on the injury report this week, but he should be ready for an RB1-worthy workload against the Chiefs by the end of the week.
  • Washington saw two of his carries and his lone target in the fourth quarter as the Raiders attempted to bleed the clock. Ashton Jeanty also appeared to get shaken up late in the game, putting Washington on the field for a few extra snaps. Jeanty eventually returned to the game even after the contest was all but decided, so it’s safe to say he’s okay. Washington remains a distant RB2 for the Raiders headed into Week 3.

Colts C Tanor Bortolini (ankle) is not on Indianapolis’ final Week 5 injury report.

He went from a Wednesday DNP to a Friday full practice and should be fine to start for the Colts this week.

Colts WR Darius Slayton (knee) is questionable for Week 5 against the Steelers.

The Colts are banged up at wide receiver and ESPN’s Stephen Holder believes this might have been the week the Colts finally got Slayton involved. He suffered a knee injury in Friday’s practice, though. He does not need to be rostered in 12-team formats.

Ashton Dulin (hamstring) won’t play in Indianapolis’ Week 5 game against the Steelers.

After dealing with an ankle injury that sidelined him most of the first three weeks, Dulin picked up a hamstring injury and did not practice all week before being ruled out ahead of this game. Laquon Treadwell prayer starts remain on the fantasy football menu.

Keenan Allen (rest/groin) is questionable for Indianapolis’ Week 5 game against the Steelers.

He did upgrade to a full practice today so he’s at least likely on the optimistic side of questionable. Still, we were hoping he’d be cleared off the line entirely today, so it does give us a little hesitation that he could practice all three times this week, including one full, and still be questionable. The Colts don’t really have much else behind him.

Saints TE Noah Fant (abdomen) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 5 against the Vikings.

Fant sat out in Week 4 after scoring two touchdowns in Week 3. He is not fantasy-relevant on his own, but he can serve as a checkdown option for Tyler Shough. The Saints labeled WR Barion Brown (thigh) questionable to play this week.

Rico Dowdle (toe) is questionable for Pittsburgh’s Week 5 game against the Colts.

He did practice three consecutive days, even if they were all limited sessions. We’d regard Dowdle as on the optimistic side of questionable to return and cut in to Jaylen Warren’s full-time workload. It’s a good matchup against a Colts line that has, at times, had issues defending the run game. Dowdle will be a hard-to-start FLEX if active with a questionable workload.

Bears LG Joe Thuney (pectoral) is not on Chicago’s final Week 5 injury report.

Nor are Darnell Wright (ankle) or Jonah Jackson (ankle), as all three got in two sessions after a Wednesday DNP. It seems like all three just got a maintenance day. The Bears line will be in good shape this week against the Packers.

D’Andre Swift (hip/knee) is not on Chicago’s final Week 5 injury report.

Despite an early-week DNP, Swift heads into the week in arguably a better position than he started it. We’re not sure how much workload he’ll handle with Kyle Monangai (foot) out, but it will certainly be a large majority of what the Bears do. Roschon Johnson figures to handle whatever Swift can’t, but isn’t a priority free agency pickup so much as a stash at this point.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) resumed practicing on Friday.

Williams got in a limited session today. It is his first time practicing since straining his hamstring in Week 2 against the Vikings. According to the Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs, Williams could be ramped up in time to face the Falcons in Week 6, depending on how his body responds. Earlier today, we learned that the Bears have not yet determined his expected return date, but a progression plan is in place with specific benchmarks. He should be rostered in 10- and 12-team leagues.

Brock Bowers (knee) is not on Las Vegas’ final injury report for Week 5.

He practiced in full each of the last two days after a limited session on Wednesday. Bowers should be started with confidence in Week 5, though it looks like the knee injury will continue to limit his practice reps.
