Tyler Shough completed 35-of-56 passes for 410 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Saints’ 30-31, Week 1 overtime loss to the Lions.

Shough was nearly seeing ghosts in the first half. The Saints had zero points and their longest drive resulted in 36 yards with a punt. Then, in the second half, Shough turned the ball over on each of his first two drives. The game looked truly over at this point, but Shough battled back and got points on the board on each of his next four drives. Detroit played passively on defense and Shough routinely punished them with long throws to Chris Olave and Devaughn Vele. Shough nearly won the game with a touchdown pass to Noah Fant in overtime. Kellen Moore went for two and Shough was unable to find his target in the back of the end zone. With the first-half rust hopefully shaken off, Shough will be a high-end QB2 versus the Ravens.

Shough played mistake-free football all afternoon, chipping away at the Ravens’ defense before leading his team to 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Shough repeatedly connected with Chris Olave all afternoon, and he found the star receiver uncontested in the end zone for his lone touchdown. Shough punched in a one-yard score on a QB sneak with 1:21 left to put the Saints up 24-17 and complete the upset of the Ravens on the road. It wasn’t an overly flashy outing by Shough, but he was efficient against a stout Ravens defense, which still managed three sacks on the day. He’s now strung together two strong fantasy performances and will be on the radar as a high-end QB2 next week against the Raiders.

Underhill compared Tyson’s best routes with Shough’s highest-targeted areas of the field and declared, “it’s the same diagram.” Coincidentally, Tyson’s route tree closely overlaps with that of No. 1 WR Chris Olave. Underhill believes that this dynamic will allow coach Kellen Moore to use Tyson and Olave interchangeably. They will both line up in the perimeter and in the slot. Underhill believes Olave will remain the team’s top pass catcher “for the near future,” but eventually both he and Tyson will work as two “top receivers.” Tyson missed most of spring practices with a hamstring injury, but Underhill said he will not worry about the issue unless Tyson misses training camp. Underhill closed the segment by saying a 55/700/5 receiving line on 90 targets is a “safe projection” for Tyson’s rookie season, though he believes Tyson is capable of doing more. The “safe” stat line equates to 155.0 PPR points and would have made him the WR40 last season.

Underhill’s colleagues, Mike Triplett and John Hendrix, agree. Triplett was the most bearish of the bunch, saying he is not sure that Shough will be able to crack the position’s top 10. Underhill notes that Vegas sports books have Shough in a five-way tie for the sixth-best odds to lead the NFL in passing yards. He adds that he is “not sure” if he can get to sixth, but he knows for sure that he can’t get to 13th. Shough was the QB10 in per-game fantasy scoring from Weeks 8-18, and the upgraded offense is expected to take another step in Year 2 under head coach Kellen Moore. Shough’s top-12 passing potential seems legit, and he has a shot to finish in that range in fantasy as well.

The Saints will host the Steelers in a Paris matchup, the inaugural Paris game for the NFL at the Stade de France. The Saints did not play an international game in 2025 while the Steelers will play overseas for the second straight year, defeating the Vikings in Ireland last season. The game will be during Week 7 of the 2026 season, potentially meaning a bye for both teams before or after the game.

He had another touchdown called back by OPI. Playing with a skeleton crew receiver corps, Shough stacked another positive performance despite the loss and pick. He continued to look impressive on the go, and has proven more than capable of threading throws into tight windows. That includes over-the-top, where Shough has appeared adept at finding the soft spot in the defense. Already 26 years old, Shough could be close to a finished product, but he has already looked better than his pre-draft profile suggested. That was something like “Derek Carr lite.” It now looks like there could be a real ceiling here, if still not necessarily truly elite upside. At the very least, however, Shough has earned the Week 1 starting job for 2026. He’s a top 15-18 option in dynasty leagues, with room to grow.

Shough had been quietly stacking solid performances heading into Week 17. He truly put it all together today, beating up on a downtrodden Titans defense for a career-high in passing yards and a career-best in yards per attempt at 12.3. Shough also had a would-be touchdown to Dante Pettis that was wiped out when Pettis fumbled the football at the two-yard line. Multiple Saints defenders were in the end zone and failed to scoop up the loose ball. It was eventually corralled by the Titans. Shough is playing his way into the starting role beyond just this year. A good performance in Week 18 versus the Falcons could be enough to secure the gig for another season.

Shough also had a touchdown called back on a holding penalty. He had no issues picking apart the New York secondary, at one point completing nine straight passes. Though he appeared to sustain an ankle injury in the fourth quarter, Shough was relatively un-pressured against a soft Jets front seven. Shough fed Chris Olave from start to finish. Olave easily led all Saints pass catchers with 16 targets and nearly came down with a few downfield shots from Shough, including a near-touchdown in the first half. Shough profiles as a solid streaming play for Week 17 against a weak Titans secondary.

Panthers defenders were flagged at least three times for deserved unnecessary roughness penalties against Shough today. Panthers DT Derrick Brown, LB Christian Rozeboom and S Lathan Ransom all lowered their shoulders on Shough after he had given himself up by sliding at the end of a scramble. He briefly met with the training staff after taking Rozeboom’s knee in his lower right back and glute, but was able to return, and ended up leading his team in rushing. Shough relied heavily on WR Devaughn Vele until Vele left with a shoulder injury. The departure seemingly reminded Shough of WR Chris Olave’s existence, leading the two to link up for four completions, 62 yards and one touchdown on the Saints’ seventh drive. Shough is a mildly interesting QB2 against the Jets next week.

On the rarest of three-touchdown days for the Saints, Shough shockingly accounted for two of them with his legs. He tallied a 34-yarder with a read-option keeper in the third quarter and added a 13-yarder the following frame by absorbing a big hit at the goal line. Shough’s 13-yard TD was a true scramble, not a designed run. Those were by far his biggest plays on a day where he completed just 13 passes, but seemingly all of his completions came on big second-half third downs. Shough kept the chains moving, and the Saints kept the upset percolating. The Bucs still got the ball back with a chance to win, but, unlike Shough, Baker Mayfield couldn’t get the critical third- or fourth-down completion to keep the game going. Doing a little more of, well, everything than expected, Shough is making a bid to return for 2026 as starter, though we still would not consider that written in stone. He will need to have more positive days down the stretch. Week 15 opponent Carolina will be coming off bye, and has had some big defensive efforts of late, keeping Shough firmly outside the top 24 in fantasy.

Shough added 18 carries on six attempts and was sacked six times. He was also active on two-point conversion plays, for better and for worse. Shough punched in a two-pointer on the ground but also threw a pick-two (interceptions returned to the end zone on two-point conversions are worth two points) on his second try. Despite struggling to get much going during this game, Shough came on late, getting all 17 of his team’s points in the second half. He even had a chance to win the game with a deep shot to Olave with under a minute to go. Shough put the ball where it needed to be, but Olave dropped the pass, ultimately costing New Orleans the game. Shough will remain the starter for Week 14, but it’s not clear if he is even an upgrade over Spencer Rattler. Needless to say, Shough is not a great fantasy option for Week 14 versus Tampa Bay.

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (rib) was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice.

McConkey was a full participant in practice after getting in a limited practice last week and playing in Week 2 against the Raiders. The 24-year-old was limited by both the injury and the Chargers’ stagnant offense but looks to be healing enough to practice fully this week. McConkey is trending to play Week 3 against the Bills, where he will be in the low-end WR2 mix.

Chargers OT Rashawn Slater (groin) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Slater popped up on the injury report with a groin issue, getting in a limited practice Wednesday. Multiple other members of the Chargers’ offensive line were also in the injury report, with G Cole Strange (pec) getting in a limited practice and G/T Trey Pipkins (knee) and G Kayode Awosika (fibula) not practicing. There is no indication yet that Slater will miss time but the Chargers offensive line is already banged up early in the season.

Jordan Whittington (quad) did not practice Wednesday.

Whittington missed Week 2 with the quad injury and doesn’t look likely to return this week. Xavier Smith and Konata Mumpfield each ran a little over half of the routes last week, though they combined for just three targets. With Tutu Atwell also in the mix for the WR2 role, there isn’t a clear fantasy winner here despite the bevy of injuries.

Terrance Ferguson (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Coming off a nine-target day, the Rams are likely giving their new No. 2 receiver a maintenance day, though this is still an injury report to keep an eye on throughout the week. Puka Nacua, Jordan Whittington, and Colby Parkinson were all on the sidelines for today’s practice. With even just Nacua out, Ferguson projects for a TE1 fantasy role. The other injuries will help push him up the Week 3 ranks.

Broncos WR Marvin Mims (foot) was limited on Wednesday.

Mims is still working his way back after aggravating his foot injury in Week 1 against the Chiefs. Although his early participation is a good sign for his Week 3 availability, the Broncos will likely play things extra cautiously this time around.

Colby Parkinson (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

The Rams have leaned on multi-TE sets when Puka Nacua has missed time or been limited over the past year, so losing Parkinson would be another notable loss for the offense. Even if he plays, this injury all but locks in Terrance Ferguson as the team’s de facto WR2 for Week 3, assuming Nacua remains sidelined. Ferguson is pushing for a TE1 ranking ahead of his Week 3 date with the Broncos.

Broncos RB Jonah Coleman (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.

What a strange turn of events. Earlier this week, Coleman was viewed as the Broncos’ potential Week 3 starter. Now, RB J.K. Dobbins (hamstring) and RB RJ Harvey (hamstring) are both practicing in a limited capacity while Coleman works in the training room. The rookie running back remains a worthwhile stash, but he may be unable to play this week.

Jalen McMillan (knee) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Vikings.

McMillan logged three full practices last week but was limited to just seven snaps on Sunday. He was not targeted once. His role should increase as he gets more practice reps under his belt, but fantasy managers can’t count on that happening this week specifically. He is not on the fantasy menu for Week 3.

Broncos RB RJ Harvey (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday.

Harvey strained his hamstring in Week 1 and logged two limited sessions in Week 2 practices before being declared inactive on game day. His continued limited practice participation puts him on track to backup starting RB J.K. Dobbins (hamstring), who is also rehabbing after experiencing cramps in Week 2. RB3 Jonah Coleman (ankle) is currently sidelined.

Broncos RB J.K. Dobbins (hamstring) was limited on Wednesday.

Hamstring cramps forced Dobbins out of the Broncos’ Week 2 game against the Jaguars. Follow-up reports on the issue have been positive, and it sounds like he has a real chance to play in Week 3 against the Rams, potentially as the leader of a banged-up committee. Keep an eye on his practice participation this week.
