Chargers G Trey Pipkins (knee) and Kayode Awosika (fibula) won’t play in Los Angeles’ Week 3 game against the Bills.

Rashawn Slater (groin) and Cole Strange (pectoral) were removed from the injury report on Friday. The end result of these moves will likely be Trevor Penning starting at guard. Nobody ever said life was easy for Justin Herbert.
Higbee dives in for the touchdown vs. Broncos
Matthew Stafford rolls out off play action and finds Tyler Higbee, who dives into the end zone to get the Los Angeles Rams on the board against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.

This is not an ideal injury report for the Chargers. Molden is the team’s starting free safety, but he’s currently out with a hamstring injury, while Dalvin Tomlinson, their starting defensive tackle, is also out with a hamstring injury. That’s good news for Josh Allen, James Cook, and the Bills offense. On the offensive side of the ball, Charlie Kolar, their starting tight end, has a forearm injury, and starting left guard Kayode Awosika has a fibula injury. Pair that with starting linemen Trey Pipkins III and Tyler Biadasz already being on the injured list, and their Chargers offensive line is going to be short-handed against a Bills defense that welcomed back Ed Oliver on Sunday. That could ding Omarion Hampton’s production a bit.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Chargers RG Cole Strange (pec) also upgraded to full participation today. Chargers G/T Trey Pipkins (knee) and LG Kayode Awosika (fibula) remained sidelined. Slate and Strange’s improvements are encouraging, but this unit is still in rough shape. Hopefully, everyone can remain setback-free.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Slater popped up on the injury report with a groin issue, getting in a limited practice Wednesday. Multiple other members of the Chargers’ offensive line were also in the injury report, with G Cole Strange (pec) getting in a limited practice and G/T Trey Pipkins (knee) and G Kayode Awosika (fibula) not practicing. There is no indication yet that Slater will miss time but the Chargers offensive line is already banged up early in the season.
  • LAC Defensive Lineman #94
Left guard Kayode Awosika (fibula), who has started each of the team’s first two games this season, will also miss some time, per Harbaugh. The Chargers already placed TEs Charlie Kolar (forearm) and David Njoku (fibula) on injured reserve, so it’s safe to assume Tomlinson and Awosika are looking at shorter absences given the team’s decision to leave them on the active roster at this time. Tomlinson has totaled eight tackles and a half sack in the two games he has appeared in, on 65 defensive snaps. Awosika was replaced by former first-round pick Trevor Penning, who will likely step in as the starting left guard until Awosika returns.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Slater resumed practicing in a limited capacity yesterday after taking two weeks off due to a “little flare-up” in his surgically repaired knee. Slater, 27, suffered a season-ending patellar tendon rupture in August last year. It is unclear what type of progress, if any, he was able to make during his two-week absence, but we should find out soon enough. Coach Jim Harbaugh said he hopes to play his starters through two full drives in Thursday’s preseason game against the Rams. Hopefully, Slater accomplishes that feat without issue.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Slater has not practiced since Thursday, but said it is “nothing to be concerned about.” OK, if you say so. After watching how the Christian Darrisaw situation unfolded last year in Minnesota, we think you’re well within your rights to be a little concerned about this even if we’re not in the realm of outright panic just yet.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Slater suffered a season-ending patellar tendon rupture in his left knee last year. He took a trip to the medical tent on Tuesday, and The Athletic’s Daniel Popper later reported that trainers were working on his left leg. He resumed practicing on Wednesday, though, and was seen participating in team drills on Thursday. He appears to be good to go.
  • LAC Tackle #70
Justin Herbert said Slater “wanted to get back on the field and was in good spirits afterward.” This probably isn’t anything to be super-concerned about, but it’s possible Slater could miss a little camp time.
  • LAC Tackle #76
Harbaugh didn’t say exactly how much either player would participate in the opening practices of camp and even noted that the whole team is starting off in a “ramp-up” stage. Alt suffered two high-ankle sprains last year, the second one requiring season-ending surgery. Slater did not play at all in 2025 because of a ruptured patellar tendon. Though it would make sense for both players to be limited during the first few practices of training camp, it doesn’t sound like any player will have any lingering issues heading into 2026.
  • LAC Tackle #76
Chargers GM Joe Hortiz said both players were ahead of schedule when asked about them a week before the NFL Draft. Slater suffered a season-ending ruptured a patellar tendon last August and did not play a snap in 2025. Alt was unable to recover from a high-ankle sprain during the season and finished the year on injured reserve. All signs point to the Chargers having their elite tackle duo healthy for the start of the year. With an improved offensive line and Mike McDaniel on the headset, this is truly a make-or-break year for Justin Herbert.

Cody White caught 1-of-3 targets for four yards and one touchdown in the Raiders’ Week 3 win over the Saints.

White has likely earned himself a roster spot with three touchdowns in two weeks. He scored via an in-breaking route on the Raiders’ eighth possession, operating as the apparent checkdown in the progression. He is not yet worth stashing, but take note of his productivity.

Broncos RB RJ Harvey (head) is questionable to return to Week 3 against the Rams.

Harvey took an awkward tackle and appeared to stumble following the play. He was removed during the commercial break and taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. Harvey gained six yards on two carries prior to departing, adding 39 yards on five receptions.

Kendre Miller rushed four times for 14 yards in the Saints’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders, adding two receptions for five yards.

Miller dealt with an illness this week, but today’s performance can hardly be called sick. Miller had a chance to carve out a role after RB Travis Etienne aggravated his hamstring injury, but he didn’t do much with the opportunity. If Etienne cannot play, Miller will be a touchdown-dependent FLEX.

Alvin Kamara rushed nine times for 36 yards in the Saints’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders, adding one reception for five yards.

Kamara largely assumed lead rushing duties once RB Travis Etienne left after aggravating his hamstring injury, but it didn’t count for much. The 31-year-old Kamara will likely be the Saints’ starter next week, assuming Etienne cannot play, but he is only an FLEX play against the Falcons.

Noah Fant caught 4-of-4 targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in the Saints’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders.

Fant chipped in two touchdowns in a game that tied an NFL record for tight end touchdowns (six). His first was on a three-yard slant. His second was an impressive catch-and-run play via play-action from 16 yards out. Fant is not on the starting radar next week against the Falcons.

Juwan Johnson caught 8-of-8 targets for 53 yards, two touchdowns and one lost fumble in the Saints’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders.

Johnson was getting open at will on out routes and shallow crossers. He and TE Noah Fant, along with the two Raiders tight ends, combined for six touchdowns, tying an NFL positional record. Johnson fumbled while trying to make a big play for his team late in the game. He attempted to stiff-arm LB Nakobe Dean, who cleanly punched the ball out for CB Eric Stokes to recover. Johnson made a real heads-up play earlier on, though. Saints QB Tyler Shough threw a bad pass to Johnson earlier on, which CB Hezekiah Masses easily picked off and returned downfield. Johnson raced after him and successfully punched the ball out with a diving hammer-fist, but the Raiders ultimately recovered that fumble, leading to a turnover for the Saints. Johnson remains a reliable TE1 against the Falcons next week.

Devaughn Vele caught 3-of-6 targets for 39 yards in the Saints’ loss to the Raiders.

Vele nearly added a decent first-down pickup to his box score, but he was unable to secure the pass as he was diving to the ground. Aside from that, he had a nice 17-yard gain in which he ripped his leg away from a would-be tackler and scampered away for a few extra yards. Vele is a boom-bust FLEX against the Falcons next week.

Chris Olave caught 9-of-13 targets for 107 yards in the Saints’ Week 3 loss to the Raiders.

Olave won at every level, be it on outs, corners or crossers. He nearly scored three times. Once on the Saints’ first possession, another on the third and again on the fourth. Saints QB Tyler Shough overthrew him on the first sequence. Olave had his defender beat as he broke inward at the Raiders’ 10-yard line. On the second one, Shough tried to force a tight-window throw from the Raiders’ three-yard line but two Raiders defenders swatted the pass down at the line of scrimmage. The last one was perhaps the biggest heartbreak. Shough connected with Olave on a slant route from the Raiders’ seven-yard line and Olave was tackled immediately after catching it at the one-yard line. Saints TE Juwan Johnson scored two plays later. Olave remains a WR1 against the Falcons next week.

Jauan Jennings caught 1-of-2 targets for one yard in the Vikings’ Week 3 win over the Bucs.

Jennings hasn’t been part of the Minnesota passing attack through three weeks. Against the Bucs Jennings ran the second most pass routes on the Vikings, behind only Jordan Addison. The low-volume Vikings passing offense likely can’t support more than one fantasy viable pass catcher per week. Jennings should remain on waivers for now.

Darnell Washington caught 3-of-4 targets for 67 yards in the Steelers’ Week 3 win over the Bengals.

No, Washington can’t be trusted in fantasy, but he sure is fun when he gets a full head of steam. Washington caught a season-high three passes in Sunday’s win over the Bengals and led the Steelers in receiving yards, thanks largely to the 47-yard play he made in the fourth quarter. A true man among boys with the ball in his hands, Washington rumbled through and past multiple defenders on his way to the big gain. While he’s always good for an exciting play or two, Washington can be left on waivers for now.
