Keenan Allen caught 5-of-9 targets for 45 yards in the Colts’ Week 5 loss to the Steelers.

Allen did not play a full complement of snaps in his first week back from a groin injury. He played 32 of the team’s 71 snaps and ran a route on 28 of their 47 dropbacks. That makes him leading the team with nine targets even more impressive. Of course, the Colts were forced to throw almost 50 times because the Steelers made it a priority to contain Jonathan Taylor. It’s highly unlikely Daniel Jones throws that much going forward, but Allen remains the top target in the offense. The issue is that most of his targets are in the short-yardage areas of the field, so he is more of a fringe-FLEX option unless you’re in a full PPR league. Next week against the Titans is a good matchup for the Colts, though.

Each of Allen’s targets, receptions and receiving yards were new personal bests for his embryonic Colts career. Allen is doing what he’s supposed to be doing in Indy, but that’s not true for many of his teammates. Then again, we don’t really care in fantasy football, as Allen’s WR3 checks are clearing all the same. Allen’s short-area looks will be in high demand in Week 7 as Daniel Jones tries to survive the Vikings’ onslaught of blitzes.

Allen got in a full practice on Friday, so he seemed to be trending towards being active, but now we know for sure. With Jamel Dean out this week and Joey Porter Jr. now in Dallas, the Colts’ passing game gets a slight bump, which is good news for Daniel Jones, who really needs to get back on track. The Colts inactives are: LB Jaylon Carlies, WR Ashton Dulin, QB Riley Leonard, WR Darius Slayton, and G Dalton Tucker.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
Allen missed Week 4 with the groin issue but returned to practice this week and even managed a full session on Friday. The team still listed him as questionable, though he appeared to be on the right side of that designation heading into the weekend. Allen will be a low-ceiling WR4 for his date with the Steelers.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
He did upgrade to a full practice today so he’s at least likely on the optimistic side of questionable. Still, we were hoping he’d be cleared off the line entirely today, so it does give us a little hesitation that he could practice all three times this week, including one full, and still be questionable. The Colts don’t really have much else behind him.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
Two straight practices, albeit limited ones, should put Allen on the right side of questionable on Friday barring something new popping up. Allen will be an unexciting FLEX play against the Steelers in Week 5 if active.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
Allen suffered a groin injury in practice last week and was unable to play in Week 4 against the Commanders. His early-week return puts him on track to play in Week 5 against the Steelers, but he can likely only be viewed as a touchdown-dependent FLEX at this time.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
Allen was limited in practice throughout the week and listed as questionable. Now he’s been ruled out for Week 4 against the Commanders. Josh Downs is locked in as the Colts top wide receiver this week and Tyler Warren should also see a boost in value with Allen sidelined.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
This one went under the radar. Allen was limited on Wednesday with a “rest” designation. He remained limited on Thursday, but the Colts tacked a groin injury next to his name while maintaining the “rest” designation and hope for a Week 4 appearance along the way. Allen was downgraded on Friday, unable to practice, and should be considered truly questionable to face the Commanders this week. Were he to sit, No. 1 wide receiver Josh Downs would get a helpful target share boost.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
His touchdown was the kind of touchdown Allen has been making for years, creating just enough space in front of a zone linebacker in the red zone for the catch-and-run score. Nine targets will play in a Shane Steichen offense, even if we don’t think there’s a lot left in the Allen reserve tanks at this stage of his career. Allen is on the FLEX radar against the Commanders in Week 4.
  • IND Wide Receiver #10
The most notable aspect to come from Allen’s modest performance was the fact that he really didn’t see an increase in emphasis in the offense following the departure of Alec Pierce at the end of the first quarter. Pierce’s initial X-rays came back negative on the same heel he had surgery on this offseason, but will get further testing Monday to diagnose the severity of the injury. Either way, Allen can safely be returned to the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Alvin Kamara (back) was removed from the injury report for Week 7’s game against the Steelers.

Kamara was still listed as limited in Friday’s practice, but the Saints feel confident enough in his health to clear him for Week 7. Kamara found the end zone last week on a 31-yard reception, but has largely been inefficient with his touches this season. He seen 14 opportunities to Kendre Miller’s 30 over the last two weeks and will be hard to trust as anything more than a touchdown-dependent RB3 against the Steelers. The only players on the Saints carrying injury designations into the weekend are guard Cesar Ruiz (knee) and DL Nathan Sheperd (illness). Both are listed as questionable.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Puka Nacua’s calf injury is not considered “a significant injury.”

As far as Nacua’s long-term status goes, this sounds like good news overall. However, Rapoport also noted that Nacua’s status for Sunday’s game against the Raiders could be “up in the air.” With Friday’s practice still to go, Nacua’s status will be one to look for later in the day, as will his designation entering the weekend. If he draws a questionable tag, fantasy managers should treat him as a true game-day decision and have a backup plan in place should be unable to play this week. Given the 4:25 PM EST start time for this game, Rams WR Konata Mumpfield could be on a short list of players worth stashing until we know more about Nacua’s availability.

FOX59’s Tyler Haughn reports Colts QB Anthony Richardson was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana earlier this week.

According to reports, Richardson was stopped on October 12th for having a registration on his car that had expired and was assigned to a different vehicle. The officer reported noticing the “odor of marijuana” coming from Richardson’s car, and the former first-round pick admitted to smoking in the car; a “small mason jar containing a substance believed to be marijuana and an opened bag of THC-infused gummies” were found in his vehicle during a search. Richardson is scheduled to have a bench trial on January 4th, 2027. While the NFL no longer suspends players for testing positive for THC, it’s possible Richardson faces some kind of penalty from the league with this being a legal issue.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Cole Kmet will undergo additional tests on his knee after Week 7’s win over the Patriots.

Head coach Ben Johnson said after the game that Kmet’s injury didn’t look “very good,” breaking from his normal tendency to avoid talking about injuries. Kmet’s knee buckled from under him in the fourth quarter of Thursday’s game, and he had to be carted from the field after the play. This looked like a potential season-ender when it happened, but tests will confirm the severity of it in the near future. Kmet’s absence could open up more opportunities for Colston Loveland, who has caught 26 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Rico Dowdle (knee) is questionable for Week 7 against the Saints.

Dowdle was listed as limited throughout the week and will officially be questionable entering this week’s game with the Saints. This is a new injury he is dealing with but it doesn’t sound like he’s at serious risk of missing the game at this time. Dowdle played on just 17 percent of snaps in his return to action last week and saw 11 opportunities. He’ll profile as a low-end RB3 this week if active.

Jaguars OL Anton Harrison was revealed to have a torn ACL, ending his season.

Surgeons discovered Harrison suffered a torn ACL while performing knee surgery on him Thursday. The 23-year-old lineman will now be placed on season-ending IR, with hopes of returning in time for training camp next season. Harrison allowed just 13 pressures and two sacks in five games this season, earning a PFF pass-blocking grade of 67.2. Walker Little, who took over in Harrison’s absence, started last week against the Texans and will assume the starting left tackle role going forward.

Rome Odunze caught 4-of-5 targets for 69 yards in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots.

The yardage total goes down as Odunze’s second highest mark of the season as the third-year receiver was held out of the end zone for the seventh straight game to start the 2026 season. He did make three massive catches on third downs to help extend drives, making his mark felt more with quality than quantity. That doesn’t necessarily benefit fantasy managers that chased his big-play abilities this offseason as Odunze has largely been a fantasy dud outside of the Week 4 win over the Jets in which he returned 15.4 PPR points. He remains best left on fantasy benches ahead of another difficult test against the Seahawks in Week 8.

    Colston Loveland

Colston Loveland caught 7-of-12 targets for 69 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots.

Loveland found himself dancing in the end zone for the second consecutive week when he muscled his way in for a score from 12 yards out in the third quarter. The team-leading 12 targets also came on only 33 Caleb Williams pass attempts, with no other player on the team recording more than five targets to their ledger. Furthermore, backup tight end Cole Kmet departed in the fourth quarter with an apparently serious knee injury as he had to be carted off the field, potentially setting Loveland up for more consistent volume moving forward. Loveland finally appears to be making good on his lofty draft capital from the summer after returning fantasy TE1 weeks in two straight games, something managers hope will continue in another difficult matchup on paper against the Seahawks on Monday Night Football in Week 8.

Luther Burden caught all four targets for 130 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots, adding seven yards on one carry.

Burden erupted on the scene with a 58-yard, catch-and-run reception on a crosser in the first quarter to set up a four-yard score for D’Andre Swift. He would tack on another 24 yards and his touchdown late in the second quarter to push him over the century mark in yards on an improbable touchdown reception, taking a quick screen to the house on third-and-17 with only 14 seconds remaining before the break. Burden would largely fall victim to a more reserved offensive stance after the Bears pushed their lead to 13 points on their first possession of the second half, adding just one additional reception in the final 30 minutes of play. That matters not to fantasy managers that had been waiting for a marquee performance from a player they chased up draft boards this summer. Burden appears to be heating up now further removed from the offseason injury he carried into the start of the regular season and can continue to be started as an upside WR2 ahead of a difficult matchup against the Seahawks in Week 8.

D’Andre Swift rushed 22 times for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 7 win over the Patriots, adding 12 yards on four receptions.

Swift shook off an early injury scare when he took a helmet directly to his knee to earn a season-high 26 opportunities in the absence of Kyle Monangai. This game had an entirely different feel than the previous game played without Monangai, during which Roschon Johnson was much more involved in a game the Bears held a 31-7 lead in the fourth quarter. The back-and-forth nature of Week 7 kept Swift on the field for more of the game, allowing him to return a legitimate RB1 performance on the backs of elite volume. Monangai could return as early as Week 8 considering the Bears now have 10 days until they play the Seahawks on Monday Night Football, potentially sending Swift back into the RB2 range in fantasy circles.
