Brandon Pettigrew led the Lions with 11 catches for 112 yards against the Vikings in Week 3.

Rolling coverage to Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson, the Vikings simply left the middle of the field open for dump-offs to Pettigrew. He had a team-high 13 targets compared to just one for Tony Scheffler. Pettigrew won’t be left uncovered against the Cowboys next week.

Justin Herbert completed 22-of-37 attempts for 205 yards and one interception in the Chargers’ Week 6 loss to the Chiefs, adding five rushes for 26 yards.

Herbert’s hellish season continued unabated on Sunday against a Kansas City defense that swamped the beleaguered Bolts quarterback on seemingly every drop back. After throwing exactly one touchdown in each of his first five outings, Herbert didn’t have any against the Chiefs. He had a negative EPA per drop back and was 10 percent below his expected pass rate in the loss. Ladd McConkey was ruled out with a head injury in the first half, further complicating OC Mike McDaniel’s efforts to stop the bleeding for the LA offense. The team’s wideout injuries and the predictability of the offense means Herbert should be dropped in most one-QB fantasy formats ahead of the Chargers’ Week 7 bye week.

Ted Hurst caught 3-of-6 targets for 40 yards in the Bucs’ Week 6 loss to the Steelers.

Hurs tied his season highs in catches and yards today. He also drew a defensive pass interference call that netted Tampa Bay 22 yards. Emeka Egbuka would score on the very next play. Hurst is looking like a solid field-stretcher, but the Bucs’ offense isn’t set up to support more than one fantasy-relevant pass-catcher. With Emeka Egbuka decisively taking that role, Hurst is buried in the WR6 ranks going forward.

Mason Taylor caught 4-of-6 targets for 33 yards in the Jets’ Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

Taylor is now up to 7/57 in two games since returning from his thumb injury. First-round rookie Kenyon Sadiq, who missed most of Week 5 with a concussion, is 3/15 during the same timespan. This Jets tight end targets battle figures to oscillate back and forth, but Taylor is the preferred option for the time being. It’s still not resulting in more than desperation TE2 value.

Bucky Irving rushed 19 times for 46 yards in the Bucs’ Week 6 loss to the Steelers, adding two catches for three yards.

Irving was bottled up on nearly every attempt, with the Steelers’ defensive front simply winning the battle in the trenches far too often. On the bright side, Irving out-carried Kenneth Gainwell 19-2 and saw three targets to Gainwell’s one. The role was there. The production was not. That role was also bolstered by the absence of Sean Tucker, who missed today’s game with a quad injury. Irving will remain in the RB2 mix for Week 7 versus the Panthers, but Tampa Bay’s grizzly offensive environment will prevent him from cracking the RB1 ranks.

Kenyon Sadiq caught 1-of-3 targets for 12 yards in the Jets’ Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

Although there was an injury-shortened appearance mixed in, Sadiq now has just three catches for 15 yards over his past three games. This, as Mason Taylor has caught nine balls for 57 yards over the past two weeks. Sadiq’s big-play ability is going to come back into play sooner rather than later, but he is unsurprisingly maxing out as a zero-floor TE2 in fantasy for the time being.

Kenneth Gainwell rushed two times for 17 yards in the Bucs’ Week 6 loss to the Steelers, adding one catch for seven yards.

There isn’t much to say here. Gainwell has topped out at five carries in a single game this year, and that came all the way back in Week 1. He hasn’t caught more than three passes in a game either, so even the PPR scam that he operated in Pittsburgh has been shut down. Gainwell isn’t in the fantasy conversation headed into Week 7 versus Carolina.

Dalton Kincaid (ribs) returned in the fourth quarter of Week 6’s game against the Raiders.

With the game tied at 23-23, Kincaid returned to the field with the Bills attempting to take the lead. Whatever he’s dealing with appears to be minor at this point, so he’ll likely attempt to gut out the remainder if this one.

Cade Otton caught 1-of-2 targets for four yards in the Bucs’ Week 6 loss to the Steelers.

Otton had caught between three and five passes in every game this year until today, so this goes down as his first true bust of the season. On the other hand, he has peaked at five catches and 56 yards with zero touchdowns thus far, so the ceiling has been nonexistent. Otton could increase his production once Baker Mayfield is back in the lineup, but it doesn’t look like that will happen next week. He is barely in the TE2 conversation as long as Jalon Daniels remains under center.

Garrett Wilson caught 4-of-6 targets for 44 yards in the Jets’ Week 6 loss to the Patriots.

Wilson’s second quietest effort of the season came as he dealt with Christian Gonzalez’s stingy coverage and first-round rookie teammate Omar Cooper Jr. returned from his ankle injury. With Adonai Mitchell (finger) likely — hopefully — soon returning from his marathon absence, Wilson is set to have a lot more target competition in the Jets’ receiver corps, but those extra bodies should also create more space for the Jets’ No. 1. Wilson remains a high-end WR2 heading into next week’s plus matchup with the Dolphins.
