Eagles DT Mike Patterson will undergo surgery “in the next couple weeks” to remove the AVM from his brain.
The brain AVM -- a tangle of blood vessels -- was found when Patterson had a training-camp seizure. He still played the entire season, racking up 35 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 15 starts. “Usually they say once one seizure happens another one can occur, so I feel real blessed,” Patterson said. The recovery can span anywhere from one to six months.
