Desmond Ridder completed 19-of-32 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown, and an interception in the Falcons’ 25-24, Week 2 win over the Packers.
Ridder also added 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. He found success both off of run-pass options and targeting his big receivers, almost getting another touchdown on a Mack Hollins toe-tap that was reversed. Ridder did have accuracy issues early in the game, throwing one interception and almost throwing two more that were dropped by Packers defenders. He looked for Drake London more this week, which helped the offense move the sticks efficiently late. The Falcons’ run game boosted Ridder’s play, giving him more flexibility to throw or run the ball. His struggles as a passer will continue as he develops, but Atlanta’s weapons will help his development. Ridder is a borderline-QB2 for fantasy purposes entering Week 3 against the Lions.
