The deal includes $77.5 million in guaranteed money for Surtain, a 2021 first round pick who has seven interceptions over his first three NFL seasons. Pro Football Focus graded Surtain as 2023’s 68th best cover corner, and 47th overall. The Broncos in 2023 allowed the league’s 11th highest drop back success rate. Surtain will anchor the Denver secondary for years to come.

The Cardinals signed Williams to a two-year, $30 million deal in the offseason. He started his career as a left tackle, but switched to right at the end of his Bengals tenure. Williams stayed at right tackle for Arizona, with Paris Johnson transitioning to start at left tackle. The offensive line allowed four sacks to the Bills in a Week 1 loss and now the additional shuffling with Williams’ injury brings more uncertainty to Kyler Murray’s protection.

Chaisson is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars, totaling five sacks in four seasons. The Jags did not pick up his fifth-year option, sending him into free agency this offseason where he signed with the Panthers. He was let go by Carolina prior to the season’s start, and now the Raiders will try to get something out of him from the practice squad.

Washington is listed with a DNP for a second straight day after he also missed Week 1 with a quad issue. He suffered a setback heading into the season opener and continues to stay out of practice. With a short week before a Thursday night game against the Bills, Washington is in danger of missing Week 2 as well.

Achane was an impactful rusher and route-runner in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars, but came away banged-up. He has now been listed as a non-participant for the second straight day due to an ankle injury, just ahead of the Dolphins’ Week 2 Thursday matchup against the Bills. Raheem Mostert (chest) was also held out of practice. Rookie RB Jaylen Wright is next man up, but told Dolphins beat reporter David Furones that he will “still expect them to play.” Wednesday will paint a clearer picture of how ready Achane and Mostert will be to play on a short turnaround. In case they do not go, Wright has RB2 upside while Jeff Wilson will see some touches as well.

Mostert was banged-up in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars, but did not miss significant time during the game. It seems to be a chest injury for Mostert that has now kept him out for a second straight practice. De’Von Achane (ankle) also missed Tuesday’s practice. If both Mostert and Achane are out for the Dolphins’ Thursday game against the Bills, rookie Jaylen Wright and Jeff Wilson are next up for touches. Wright would be a high-upside RB2 if he starts.

Per his agent Brett Tessler, Joseph will make another NFC North stop after spending time with the Packers and Vikings. This move was likely done to provide competition with current kicker Jake Bates who made 2-of-2 field goals in the Lions’ Week 1 game against the Rams

This is devastating blow for the Brents and the Colts as the young corner was coming along nicely. He nearly changed the Colts’ fortunes in Week 1 when he came down with a would-be interception that was eventually ruled out of bounds. The team expects him to be fully healthy for the 2025 season.

Johnson injured his knee in Sunday’s win over the Cardinals and has not seen the field for either of the first two practices of the week. With the Bills facing the Dolphins on Thursday, he needs to practice tomorrow to have any shot of being active on game day. If Johnson were to miss Thursday’s game, that would mean Ray Davis would be the only back-up to James Cook and that would give the rookie a really nice opportunity to lay claim to the job full-time. He would likely not be used enough to warrant fantasy value, but he would make for a great bench stash in case anything happened to James Cook or if Davis himself happened to have a great showing on national TV.

The Bills star quarterback injured his hand while hurdling a defender for a touchdown on Sunday. Both he and the team have said he’s good to go on Thursday against the Dolphins, and it seems like the Bills will simply tape up his hand and offer him some extra padding during the game. Allen was taking snaps from shotgun and under center during practice on Tuesday, so it seems like the hand injury may not cause the Bills to have to alter their gameplan to be more shotgun-heavy on Thursday.

McMahon’s agent Whitney Holtzman broke the news on her Twitter account. McMahon was a sixth-round pick out of NC State this year and has the ability to play all three interior offensive line spots. The Rams are looking to add depth to the interior of their line after losing starting guard Steve Avila to an MCL sprain in Week 1 against the Lions.
