The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reports TE Dallas Goedert will remain with the Eagles in 2025.

Goedert agreed to a $4 million salary cut for the upcoming season, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. He will make $10 million in 2025 and be a free agent next offseason. It’s quite the turnabout after Eagles coaches and front office officials strongly implied for months that Goedert had played his last snap with the team. Goedert, 30, has missed 15 games over the past three seasons and was widely expected to be dealt during the NFL Draft. Goedert will be a solid top-12 fantasy option, well behind AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith in the team’s target pecking order. He averaged 4.2 catches and 49.6 receiving yards per game in 2024 and had the ninth highest EPA per target among tight ends.

Calvin Ridley (hip) returned to practice on Wednesday.

Ridley did not practice once last week. He was listed as questionable on Friday but never appeared likely to suit up and was eventually ruled out ahead of kickoff. Elic Ayomanor popped up for 44 yards on three catches and seven targets in his absence. Ridley’s return will prevent Ayomanor from building any momentum.
Skattebo to see heavy usage amid Tracy Jr. injury
With Tyrone Tracy Jr. to miss four games on the IR with a hamstring injury, Kyle Dvorchak discusses the state of the Giants' backfield and what running backs would be good additions to a fantasy roster.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said Derwin James (hamstring) is a candidate for injured reserve after suffering a setback.

Brutal. This team cannot catch a break. Losing James makes the center of their defense fairly vulnerable. The Chargers’ stalwart safety plays a do-it-all role. If James lands on injured reserve this week, he will be eligible to return for the Chargers’ Week 12 game against the Patriots.

Garrett Wilson told reporters he has not requested a trade.

Wilson said he loves it in New York. He then immediately added, “Do I love it more than I love winning? Nah, to be completely honest, but I’m hopeful.” It’s hard to blame Wilson. The Jets are 24-51 since drafting Wilson and he has routinely caught passes from some of the league’s worst quarterbacks. The offense has been better under Geno Smith this year, but the team is still struggling to win games. Wilson could likely force his way out of New York if he wanted to, but it sounds like he’s content to go down with the ship again this year.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel will continue calling plays.

McDaniel gets the bye week to recalibrate after six weeks of disgraceful football from his unit, but it’s clear McDaniel’s leash is incredibly short. PFT’s Mike Florio reported a week ago that the Chargers could ultimately replace McDaniel with Adam Gase, who currently holds the title of pass game specialist. They currently rank dead last in points and 28th in yards. If the results are no different versus the Rams this week, McDaniel may be out of a job by Monday.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter said he is not ruling out Vega Ioane (knee) for Week 8 against the Bills yet.

The Ravens’ mauling rookie guard suffered an MCL sprain in Week 7 against the Bengals. He is likely on the wrong side of questionable for Week 8, but Minter said he has been impressed by Ioane’s resilience and thinks he could recover quickly. In the meantime, OL Emery Jones Jr. and OT Andrew Vorhees will compete for the potential starting role.

Rams signed Joshua Karty, formerly of the Cardinals.

Karty spent time with the Rams from 2024-25. He now resides on their practice squad and could end up kicking on game day, as the Rams work through their ongoing kicker issues. The Rams also signed LS Jake McQuaide and LB Jon Rhattigan to the practice squad. They released OL Austin Blaske, CB Nyzier Fourqurean and LB Elias Neal.

Devonte Wyatt (ankle) is questionable for Week 8 against the Panthers.

Wyatt got in two limited practices this week, so we’re going to assume he gets the green light ahead of kickoff. Wyatt has two sacks and one forced fumble across seven starts this year. Green Bay signed him to a three-year extension in the offseason.

Matthew Golden (shoulder/foot) is questionable for Week 8 against the Panthers.

The Packers held two walkthrough practices to start the week. Golden was estimated as a DNP for both. He was limited in the team’s final practice before being hit with the questionable tag. Fantasy managers should treat him as a true game-time decision for tomorrow’s game. Savion Williams has been operating as the team’s No. 3 receiver over the past two weeks. He would presumably be the next man up if Golden can’t go, though Williams would still be a high-risk FLEX bet for Week 8.

Bears coach Ben Johnson said Coby Bryant (knee) has not yet resumed change-of-direction activities, which will be a “big hurdle” in his recovery.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on August 11th that Bryant would miss 4-6 months after injuring his knee in training camp. The high-priced free agent signee was brought in to help revamp the Bears’ safety unit. This remains a unit to target in fantasy, with Bryant out until at the NFL playoffs.

Aaron Jones (knee) will not practice on Wednesday.

Jones has reportedly been playing through a sprained MCL in one knee since Week 2. He seemingly aggravated it in Week 7 and left the game early in the fourth quarter. On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Jones is considered “day-to-day.” Jones could once again play through the issue this week against the Lions. Stay tuned.
