Baker Mayfield completed 18-of-26 passes for 145 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the Buccaneers’ 23-20, Week 16 loss to the Panthers, adding four rushes for 49 yards.
The Buccaneers offense finally has a fully healthy receiving corps, but still struggled to pass downfield against the Panthers. Mayfield’s longest pass was 13 yards before connecting with Emeka Egbuka for a 40-yard pass in the fourth quarter. He threw a one-yard goal-line fade to Mike Evans for the first Bucs score and averaged 5.6 yards per attempt for the game. Mayfield’s rushing production came off scramble plays he took several yards downfield. He made quick passes to the middle of field in the fourth quarter two-minute drill, but capped it off by missing Mike Evans to throw an interception to end the game. The Bucs have struggled offensively the second half of the season and now lose control of first place in the NFC South. Mayfield has fallen to the fantasy QB2 range for Week 17 against the Dolphins.

Brock Bowers caught 5-of-5 targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Las Vegas’ Week 16 loss to the Texans
The Raiders managed to get Bowers a few underneath looks on early downs, but between Geno Smith’s deep accuracy being unreliable and the pass rush, Bowers-reliant managers should feel lucky that he found the end zone early in this one, as he was bracketed between two Texans defenders and it took a great throw from Geno Smith to find him. Start Bowers if you’ve got him in Week 17, though, on account of a teed-up matchup against one of the NFL’s worst defenses — the Giants — in a game that could determine the fate of the No. 1 overall pick.
Colts' limitations loom ahead of matchup vs. 49ers
Drew Dinsick and Jay Croucher preview a Monday Night Football battle between the 49ers and Colts, questioning how San Francisco will perform against a depleted secondary and doubting an "untenable" Phillip Rivers.
  • HOU Wide Receiver
Jayden Higgins caught 1-of-3 targets for 17 yards in Houston’s Week 16 win over the Raiders.
Back-to-back duds for Higgins, who also had one catch last week. His catch was a big one, but the Texans are spreading the ball around enough that he won’t have consistent fantasy value. Higgins will be a hard-to-start WR5 against the Chargers in Week 17.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #13
Christian Kirk caught 3-of-5 targets for 37 yards in Houston’s Week 16 win over the Raiders.
Kirk, questionable with an illness on Friday, not only played, but had his highest snap count (39) since Week 9 and highest target count since Week 12. We don’t get it — and while he had one nice slant over the middle here, there was nothing that otherwise said Kirk had to play. He’ll be a weak WR5 play against the Chargers in Week 17.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #12
Nico Collins caught 4-of-9 targets for 59 yards in Houston’s Week 16 win over the Raiders.
Collins had three major plays, one of which was a 24-yard sideline catch in double coverage to end the game at the two-minute warning. The other two were questionable DPI calls he drew, one to set the Texans up on first-and-goal, and another to bail them out of third-and-long early on the final drive. He lost a few catches to an inaccurate C.J. Stroud and the Texans only advanced to the red zone once to let him play bully ball. He’ll be on the low-end WR1 line against the Chargers in Week 17.
  • ATL Tight End #8
Kyle Pitts caught 7-of-9 targets for 57 yards and one touchdown in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Cardinals.
Pitts came to life at the end of the Falcons’ fourth drive. With less than two minutes remaining in the half, Falcons QB Kirk Cousins got him going with a screen pass for a three-yard gain. He went right back to Pitts on the following play, producing a 12-yard reception that brought the offense to the Cardinals’ 11-yard line. Two plays later, Pitts motioned into the slot after lining up out wide and took off on a shallow crossing route, just inside the end zone. He scooted straight past the Cardinals’ distracted coverage defenders and easily secured the five-yard touchdown pass from Cousins on the right side of the end zone. Per Falcons reporter Tori McElhaney, Pitts’ 395 receiving yards over the last four games are “the most receiving yards over a four-game span by a tight end in franchise history.”
  • HOU Tight End #86
Dalton Schultz caught 5-of-5 targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 16 win over the Raiders.
Schultz managed to be the target on a rare “good” red-zone call from Texans OC Nick Caley, a play-action route that went uncovered. Otherwise it was more of the same — checkdowns, wriggling rather than breaking tackles, and competent TE1 play. Schultz will remain on the TE1 borderline against the Chargers in Week 17.
  • LV Running Back #31
Raheem Mostert rushed for six yards on his only carry in the Raiders’ Week 16 loss to the Texans.
He had four offensive snaps. Mostert’s contingency value — if he ever had any — is all dried up. The snap count is too low to start him against the Giants even in a great matchup. You can probably do better on your Week 17 bench.
  • PIT Wide Receiver #4
DK Metcalf caught 4-of-9 targets for 42 yards in the Steelers’ Week 16 win over the Lions.
The only thing anyone will remember about this game regarding Metcalf is his altercation with a Lions fan at the end of the first half. Metcalf was spotted near the stands jawing with the fan. He then threw a punch at the fan’s face, though the blow appeared to miss. Either way, we’re expecting a suspension for Metcalf. The only question is how long the NFL will put him on ice for. No matter what, fantasy managers should plan on being without him for the championship round next week.
  • ATL Wide Receiver #1
Darnell Mooney caught 2-of-2 targets for 24 yards in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Cardinals.
Mooney delivered one usable fantasy outing during WR Drake London’s knee-related absences in Weeks 12-15. The formerly effective field stretcher is now a seldom-used member of the receiving corps whose primary role is to command the attention of opposing safeties. He should not be rostered in re-draft.
  • PIT Running Back #30
Jaylen Warren rushed 14 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers’ Week 16 win over the Lions.
The Steelers were in a dog fight with Detroit to open the fourth quarter, up by five with playoff hopes on the line for both sides. Warren then called ball game with a 45-yard sprint to the end zone, his longest run since 2023. The Lions returned fire with a touchdown drive of their own. Warren again put the team on his back one final time with another 45-yard rushing score. This goes down as the best rushing performance of his career by far. Warren is still stuck in a committee with Kenneth Gainwell, but he re-established his command of the carries in this contest with Gainwell only seeing nine attempts. Warren will sit on the RB2/3 border for his Week 17 date with the Browns.
