Rotoworld Player News Headlines

All Player News

Jake Ferguson

DAL Tight End #87

Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players

Jake Ferguson (knee) is questionable to return to Week 9 against the Colts.

The term “questionable” is a vast understatement based on the replay, although the veteran tight end did walk off the field under his own power. The replay and initial reaction from Ferguson did not look good. Expect an update from the team following the game. Ferguson caught both targets for 21 yards and a touchdown prior to departing.
J.J. McCarthy

NYG Quarterback #18

J.J. McCarthy (hip, questionable) returned before the end of the third quarter in the Giants’ Week 9 game against the Eagles.

McCarthy, who presumably received some sort of pain-killing injection after twice collapsing in the third quarter, returned for the final play of the frame. He screamed at his offensive linemen to pump them up before doing so. Never a dull moment.
Mike Evans

SF Wide Receiver #5

49ers declared WR Mike Evans, WR Deebo Samuel, QB Kurtis Rourke, OT Enrique Cruz, LB Tatum, Bethune, and DL Khalid Kareem inactive for Week 9 against the Raiders.

Evans will miss at least one game with his lingering Achilles injury. Look for the Niners to be careful with their WR1 in the coming weeks. Demarcus Robinson, coming off an injury, will return to the lineup against Vegas and likely operate as the Niners’ top wideout. Robinson will be flex-viable against a porous Vegas secondary.
Hunter Henry

NE Tight End #85

Hunter Henry (foot) is active for Week 9 against the Packers.

It was reported earlier in the day that Henry had a “realistic” shot at suiting up this week after he managed to log a limited practice on Friday. Henry will profile as a high-end TE2 with A.J. Brown (ankle/knee) out this week. In addition to Brown being out, the Patriots also declared RB TreVeyon Henderson, CB Charles Woods, OT Dametrious Crownover, and QB Behren Morton inactive for Week 9.
MarShawn Lloyd

GB Running Back #32

Packers declared RB MarShawn Lloyd (knee), LB Zaire Franklin, OL Donovan Jennings, OL Sean Rhyan, OL Travis Glover, and TE Josh Whyle inactive for Week 9 against the Patriots.

Pierre Strong and Kaleb Johnson will serve as the backups to Josh Jacobs with Lloyd sidelined. DB Keisean Nixon, who was listed as questionable entering the weekend, is active after being slowed by a groin injury earlier in the week.
Jaylen Waddle

DEN Wide Receiver #17

Jaylen Waddle suffered a concussion in the Broncos’ Week 9 game against the Panthers and will not return.

Waddle was listed as questionable in the first half but then ruled out to begin the third. It’s another nightmare development for Waddle in his first Broncos season, as he has struggled for both 100 percent health and productive box scores. Today’s injury came as Waddle skied for a target over the middle of the field and got high/lowed. He had just one grab for 22 yards before departing. The only good news is the Broncos are on bye for Week 10, meaning Waddle might not miss any game time beyond this afternoon.
Joe Burrow

CIN Quarterback #9

Joe Burrow completed 24-of-29 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns in the Bengals’ 34-17 Week 9 win over the Falcons, adding three carries for seven yards and a touchdown.

Burrow’s excellent run of play continued against the Falcons defense in Madrid in Week 9. The 29-year-old signal caller has amassed 16 passing touchdowns in the last four weeks and added two more touchdowns on the ground. Burrow’s production is unsurprisingly coming from playing through his top wide receivers as Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for 187 yards receiving and all three receiving touchdowns against Atlanta. Burrow is likely to find himself on the shortlist for the MVP award the way things are going. He’s a locked in QB1 heading into a Week 10 matchup with the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, which airs on NBC and Peacock.
Jordyn Tyson

NO Wide Receiver #0

Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) is active for Week 9 against the Browns.

Tyson will make his NFL debut after missing the first two months of the year with a hamstring injury. We’re expecting a snap count for him this week, making him an extremely risky FLEX play. Inactive for the Saints are QB Zach Wilson, S Mike Reid, RB C.J. Donaldson, DT Christen Miller, LB Jaylan Ford, OL Mason Murphy, and DL John Ridgeway III.
Deshaun Watson

CLE Quarterback #4

Browns declared QB Deshaun Watson, QB Taylen Green, C Parker Brailsford, DT Maliek Collins, LB Justin Jefferson, and CB Noah Igninoghene inactive for Week 9 against the Saints.

Watson cleared the league’s concussion protocol over the weekend but was not prepared as the starter throughout the week. Shedeur Sanders will get his first start of the season and Dillon Gabriel will back him up.
Cam Skattebo

NYG Running Back #44

Cam Skattebo (hamstring) is inactive for Week 9 against the Eagles.

With Skattebo down, the G-Men have been forced into a Devin Singletary start. Someone named “Gregory Desrosiers” appears to be the RB2. Expect a pass-focused game plan vs. Philly’s crumbling defense. Also inactive for the Giants are CB Colton Hood, CB Nikko Reed, OL Josh Sills, OL Marcus Mbow, TE Thomas Fidone II and DL C.J. Okoye.
