World No. 19 Bryson DeChambeau, looking to rebound from a missed cut last week at the Texas Open, will make his sixth start at the Masters, where he has never missed the cut with a best finish of T-21 in 2016 (as low amateur).
The 28-year-old DeChambeau told media on Monday that he’s at “80 percent” after spending the better part of the last two months recovering from injuries, which included a fractured hamate bone in his left hand and a torn labrum in his left hip. However, the eight-time Tour winner said the six-week break had its benefits, which included changes “behind the scenes” and some opportunities to “give back to the game of golf.” But make no mistake, DeChambeau also has been working hard on his game the last three weeks and feels confident with where things stand: “It’s been a bit of unravelling this knot that I’ve had in my game for the past four years,” he said. “We’re finally in a moving in a direction that I feel is positive for me being able to win again, hopefully, regularly like I did in 2018.” His record at Augusta including a T-38 in 2018, T-29 in 2019, T-34 in 2020 and T-46 in 2021.
