Pinehurst Resort and St. Andrews Links made a Ryder Cup bet. Whichever home team won, the loser would have to fly the victor’s flag.
The U.S. prevailed over Europe, and St. Andrews paid off by showcasing a Pinehurst No. 2 flag on the 18th green at the Old Course on Monday.
