The purse for this year’s U.S. Open will be $6 million, an increase of $500,000 over last year.
The winner will get $1.08 million, the USGA announced Monday. That’s $80,000 more than Tiger Woods got for winning last year’s U.S. Open at Bethpage Black in New York.
This year’s U.S. Open will be played June 12-15 at Olympia Fields Country Club near Chicago..
The USGA also announced $100,000 increases for both the U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open purses.
The U.S. Women’s Open will offer $3.1 million in prize money this year, with the winner earning $560,000. The U.S. Women’s Open will be played July 3-6 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Ore.
The U.S. Senior Open will offer $2.6 million in prize money, with the winner getting $470,000. The U.S. Senior Open is June 26-29 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.Related Links:
