Tip of the Week: Sequence your backswing correctly

Thumbnail

Many average golfers struggle with their ball-striking because they don’t understand how to properly sequence their backswing.

Oftentimes, the club gets out of position early in the takeaway and a proper shoulder turn doesn’t happen from there, which leads to a swing that’s drastically off plane.

In this video segment, Brad Brewer has a great drill to help you improve your backswing, and the key is in two distinct parts to get the club in the proper position as a result of the takeaway and then to make a good shoulder turn to get the club on plane at the top of the swing.

If you can get these two moves down, you’ll finish your backswing, it will be sequenced properly and you’ll be able to deliver the club to impact much more effectively.
