    Romak, 26, batted .251/.343/.460 with 23 home runs, 71 RBI and an .803 OPS over 505 plate appearances with Double-A Northwest Arkansas this season while splitting time between first base and DH. He’ll continue to ply his trade at the minor league level in 2012.

    Cardinals acquired OF Jamie Romak from the Royals for cash considerations.
    Romak has hit just .147 with a .422 OPS in his first 11 games this season at the Triple-A level and is 26 years old, but he slugged 23 home runs at Double-A in 2011. The Cardinals will hope for a big turnaround.

    Romak, 27, was acquired from the Royals in May and enjoyed some success between the Cardinals Double- and Triple-A affiliates. He’ll stick around as organizational depth in 2013.

    Romak made it up to the majors briefly with the Diamondbacks in 2015 before spending 2016 in Japan. He’s now back in the states and will be a long shot to crack the Padres’ Opening Day roster.

    Jamie Romak has been named to the roster for Team Canada for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
    Romak recently signed a minor league deal with the Padres which includes an invitation to spring training. The 31-year-old has appeared in the majors with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, but he spent the 2016 season in Japan.

    Korea’s SK Wyverns have acquired Jamie Romak from the Padres for cash considerations.
    The Padres reportedly got $450,000 in order to release Romak from his minor league contract. He had put up a 1.192 OPS in 25 games for Triple-A El Paso.

    Dodgers signed 1B/OF Jamie Romak to a minor league contract.
    The deal includes an opt-out clause that Romak can exercise if he’s not in the majors by July 1. It’s not clear whether he’ll receive an invitation to spring training. Romak batted .242/.322/.461 with 22 homers and 74 RBI at Triple-A for the Cardinals this past season.

    It’s a day of rest. Gonzalez has just one hit -- a single -- in 29 plate appearances since the beginning of June. Jamie Romak will start at first base vs. the Reds.
