Dolphins selected UNC DL Jason Strowbridge with the No. 154 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Strowbridge (6’4"/275) was a three-year starter at North Carolina who lined up as a defensive tackle and edge rusher throughout his career and at the Senior Bowl. He earned third-team All-ACC honors in 2019 by totaling 3.0 sacks, 5.5 TFLs, and 45 tackles, modest production for a 23-year-old. He’s caught between being an edge rusher and defensive tackle currently and will need to transform his body one way or another to be a starter in the NFL. At the NFL Combine, he tested in the 18th percentile as an edge rusher, but Jones may be best-suited as a rotational player who lines up inside on passing downs. His developmental profile collides with his age. Brian Flores’ Patriots roots are showing again, as this is the body type New England typically covets.
