Javon Freeman-Liberty has agreed to a one-year deal with the Brisbane Bullets of Australia’s NBL.
Freeman-Liberty spent the 2024-25 season with the Bulls’ G League affiliate before playing for Chicago in the NBA 2K26 Summer League. His only official NBA action occurred during the 2023-24 season, when the 6-foot-4 guard appeared in six games with the Raptors.

Javon Freeman-Liberty accumulated 22 points (8-of-14 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals, two blocks and two three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Jazz.
After spending last season with the Bulls ' G League affiliate, Freeman-Liberty entered summer league play as an unrestricted free agent. His play in Las Vegas may have opened some eyes within the Bulls organization and among the other 29 NBA teams. Freeman-Liberty capped his week with another 20-point scoring effort and recorded a complete stat line. However, until his next destination is known, there’s no need to consider JFL in fantasy leagues.

Javon Freeman-Liberty accumulated 21 points (6-of-18 FGs, 8-of-10 FTs), three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Saturday’s loss to the Kings.
After appearing in 24 games as a rookie with the Raptors, Freeman-Liberty spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Bulls’ G League affiliate. He’s a free agent, making these games highly important to strengthen his NBA chances. Freeman-Liberty struggled with his shot on Saturday, but the ability to attack the paint off the dribble boosted the guard’s point tally. Freeman-Liberty won’t change anything regarding his fantasy value in Las Vegas, but he may be able to earn an Exhibit 10 contract or two-way deal.

The Chicago Bulls signed and waived Javon Freeman-Liberty on Saturday, according to the NBA"s transactions log.
Freeman-Liberty averaged 7.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game through his 22 appearances with the Raptors last season. He’ll get a chance to play for the Windy City Bulls in 2024-25 if there’s an Exhibit 10 language in his latest contract.

The Raptors have waived Javon Freeman-Liberty.
Freeman-Liberty’s contract for the 2024-25 season was not guaranteed, so his departure will not significantly impact Toronto’s cap situation. As a rookie, he appeared in 22 games last season, averaging 7.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 18.3 minutes. Freeman-Liberty’s departure will not impact fantasy basketball.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #0
Javon Freeman-Liberty amassed 24 points (7-of-14 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, one steal, and three 3-pointers in Wednesday’s 86-76 loss to Utah, playing 24 minutes.
With Gradey Dick (ankle) sidelined, the Raptors needed to get additional offense from someone on Wednesday. Enter Freeman-Liberty, who led all players with 24 points and was Toronto’s lone double-digit scorer. While he does have a contract for next season, it will not become fully guaranteed until January 10. Given Freeman-Liberty’s play in Las Vegas, he’s taking steps toward ensuring his future in Toronto. Whether or not that’s enough to make him fantasy-relevant remains to be seen.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #0
Javon Freeman-Liberty came away with eight points, a rebound, seven assists and two blocks across 33 minutes in Sunday’s loss to the Heat.
The DePaul product averaged just under 18 minutes per game as a rookie, but over the final 11 contests, he logged 23.3 minutes and had some strong performances. He scored in double figures six times, including a career-high 20 points against Indiana on April 9. Freeman-Liberty could see an increased role in Year 2 as a key reserve for a rebuilding Toronto team, especially if Gary Trent Jr. leaves in free agency this summer.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #0
Javon Freeman-Liberty, Gary Trent Jr., Gradey Dick, Ochai Agbaji, and Kelly Olynyk will start Sunday’s game against Miami.
The Raptors are without Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett for their season finale, hence the additions of Freeman-Liberty and Agbaji to the starting lineup. They’re worth streaming in active fantasy leagues, and this could be an afternoon in which Trent has the ultimate “green light” due to a lack of reliable scoring options.
  • TOR Small Forward #9
RJ Barrett and Kelly Olynyk will miss Wednesday’s matchup with Brooklyn due to rest, and Immanuel Quickley (rest) will return following Tuesday’s absence.
Barrett and Olynyk will miss the second half of Toronto’s back-to-back, while Gradey Dick (groin), Gary Trent Jr. (back) and Bruce Brown (knee) will all get questionable tags. Quickley should enjoy a monster workload, while Javon Freeman-Liberty, Malik Williams and Jordan Nwora should be in line for expanded roles.
  • TOR Shooting Guard #0
Javon Freeman-Liberty generated 20 points, eight boards, two assists, a steal and two three-pointers across 33 minutes in Tuesday’s 140-123 loss to the Pacers.
The DePaul product had a career night as he provided career-bests in points, rebounds and minutes while shooting an efficient 7-of-10 from the floor, 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Both Gradey Dick and Immanuel Quickley were sidelined, but regardless of those players’ availability, Toronto would be wise to give their rookie guard plenty of run over the final three games of the season. Freeman-Liberty will look to close the season out on a high note in games against Brooklyn and Miami (twice).
