Steelers CB Justin Layne was arrested during a traffic stop early Friday morning.
Layne has since been charged with driving under suspension, a speed limit violation, and having a firearm in his vehicle. A 2019 third round pick, Layne has played in 26 games for Pittsburgh over the past couple seasons. There’s a good chance he’ll face a suspension once the NFL looks into his arrest.

Steelers activated CB Justin Layne from the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
Layne spent 13 days on the COVID-19 list, according to Alex Kozora, a writer covering the Steelers. WR James Washington spent five days on the list, while Jaylen Samuels remains on the list after nine days. Fantasy managers should prepare to be without players for at least a week when they test positive for the virus during the regular season.

Steelers signed third-round CB Justin Layne to a four-year contract.
Layne (6’2/192) turned pro after making 26 starts in three seasons for Michigan State. PFF College awarded Layne with its highest 2018 cornerback grade, while Layne confirmed his elite athleticism with 90th-percentile SPARQ results at the Combine, including an 11-foot-2 broad jump and 6.90 three cone-time. Long and an efficient mover with a wideout background, Layne offers legitimate shutdown-corner upside but also a low floor.
