Free agent S Kareem Moore will work out for the Seahawks this weekend.
An 11-game starter as recently as 2010, Moore was waived by the Redskins at the November deadline to activate him from the reserve/PUP list. A pair of knee injuries may now have his career in jeopardy.

    Redskins waived S Kareem Moore.
The ‘Skins were faced with Wednesday’s deadline to active Moore from reserve/PUP list, where he spent the first half of the season while rehabbing from knee surgery. With Reed Doughty and DeJon Gomes providing depth at the position, Moore wasn’t needed at safety.

Both Kareem Moore and Reed Doughty saw first-unit snaps at free safety during this weekend’s minicamp.
Chris Horton, who is recovering from toe surgery, will be part of the battle as well. Doughty is the most effective of the group and held the starting job down the stretch last season. We’d expect him to win out.

The Redskins have been giving CB Fred Smoot reps at free safety during training camp.
Smoot would be a very undersized safety at 5'11/192, so we doubt he’d be an option to move there full time down the line. The Skins must not have much faith in LaRon Landry’s usual backup, second-year man Kareem Moore.

Redskins rookie sixth-round S Kareem Moore, now recovered from offseason knee surgeries, has been turning heads in training camp.
Washington Post beat writer Jason LaCanfora says Moore is “a heck of an athlete and has some of the attributes you want out of a ball-hawking centerfielder.” Coach Jim Zorn also pointed out Moore’s body control and called him a “tremendous athlete.” He’ll get a chance to play a substantial role in Saturday’s game.

Reed Doughty is now the Redskins starting strong safety full time with Chris Horton (toe) sidelined.
Horton is a strong candidate for injured reserve, so Doughty is getting a big chance. Kareem Moore is now the third safety for a team that has been absolutely ravaged by injuries. Doughty has appeared in all eight of the Skins’ games this season, making 43 tackles and recording one sack.
