Broncos signed fifth-round LB Lamin Barrow to a four-year contract.
Barrow was a weak-side linebacker at LSU and projects as one at the NFL level. He’ll contribute on special teams early in his career but could develop into a starter long-term. Barrow will be WLB Danny Trevathan’s top backup.

Fifth-round pick Lamin Barrow will compete for the Broncos’ starting middle linebacker job.
The Broncos are giving Barrow an extended look at MIKE after he played mostly weak-side linebacker at LSU. Nate Irving is getting the majority of OTA reps, but is best suited for a rotational role. ESPN’s Jeff Legwold believes Barrow “already has the look of a guy who’s going to push early and often for playing time.”

Broncos DC Jack Del Rio has been impressed with fifth-round MLB Lamin Barrow.
“He’s progressing,” Del Rio said. “If you looked at the first day of practice and you looked at today, he doesn’t even look like the same guy. We just have to see how far we can bring him.” Barrow played with “too much lateral movement” in OTAs, but has been standing out during the early part of camp. With Nate Irving a middling option on the inside, Barrow is an IDP prospect to monitor.

Broncos selected LSU LB Lamin Barrow with the No. 156 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Barrow (6-foot-1 3/8, 237) manned the weak side in Les Miles’ 4-3 defense, making 28 career starts, 14.5 career tackles for loss, and four recovered fumbles. He was LSU’s leading tackler (91) in 2013. Barrow managed a 4.64 forty at the Combine, but demonstrated short-area explosion with a 10-foot-3 broad jump and displays plus-movement skills on film. He projects as a 4-3 Will ‘backer with some longer-term IDP appeal.
