    Blazers waive F Luis Montero.
Prior to this transaction, Montero had received one Rotoworld blurb in his entire career. That’s impressive.
  • NBA Small Forward #6
Goran Dragic, Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington, Derrick Williams and Willie Reed will start Tuesday vs. Orlando.
Justise Winslow is nursing a minor back injury so Derrick Williams should get some extended run tonight, and newly signed Luis Montero should be able to pick up some minutes as well.
  • Power Forward #12
Justise Winslow (back) will not suit up for Tuesday’s preseason game against the Magic.
The newly signed Luis Montero will likely be earning some extended minutes tonight sans Winslow, with Derrick Williams and James Johnson picking up the scraps. Winslow should be stepping into an expanded role this year with the departure of Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh (blood clots), so he’s someone to consider swooping up with a late-round selection on draft day. As for his back, Winslow said he just slept on it wrong, but believes he’ll be fine by the end of the week.
  • NBA Small Forward #44
The Heat have signed F Luis Montero.
It’s only a partially guaranteed deal, so Montero is likely headed to Miami’s D-League affiliate. There’s no fantasy value to be had here.
  • NBA Small Forward #44
    Heat waive F Luis Montero.
Despite just being signed earlier in the week, Montero was always staring at this fate. The Heat wanted his D-League rights, and that’s where we can expect him to begin the 2016-17 season.
  • NBA Small Forward #44
Luis Montero will sign a two-way contract with the Pistons.
The 6'7" wing has 12 NBA games under his belt with the Blazers back in 2015-16, but he likely won’t make an impact for the Pistons any time soon. We’ll monitor his progress in the G-League, but he’s completely off the fantasy radar.
  • NBA Small Forward #44
Luis Montero will not play for the Dominican Republic in the FIBA Americas tournament this summer, instead electing to focus on the NBA.
Montero will start the year off playing behind Al-Farouq Aminu, Moe Harkless and Mike Miller in the rotation, so there’s no reason to target him on draft day.
  • Power Forward #34
The Blazers assigned Cliff Alexander and Luis Montero to the D-League.
They are not in the rotation in Portland so it makes sense for them to gain some experience in the D-League.
